Re: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
I'm still in the Second Chapter(?). Something about El Dorado. But the game is very fun. The dialogue is well-written and the scenes are shot like a blockbuster movie. I'm very impressed with the time they took to make this feel like a movie.
I decided to watch some of the draft and then Fear Itself so I turned off the game pretty early. I'll play some more tomorrow."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Man, I'm so sick of this game. I'd say I'm almost half way through, but I feel like selling it. Just not my kind of game.Comment

Re: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
I'm really liking this game. It's forcing me to keep GTAIV on the sidelines until I beat it.
Though exploring is linear it can feel open at times. Guys come from all over the place to kill you and definitely makes you use cover. I can appreciate a game that isn't about run-and-gun.
Good, good stuff. I'm glad I've given it a try."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
I actually have to thank EA and the mediocre quality of NCAA '08. The turnover issue eventually got me to stop playing it much and it forced me to start looking at more non sports titles. I gave the Uncharted demo a spin and was hooked. There have definitely been some great non sports titles out there that are forcing the sports gaming companies to improve their quality or lose out to other games. Uncharted was one of them and the movie style quality was fantastic.Comment

Naughty Dog: Uncharted Trophies coming 'very soon'
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune developer Naughty Dog tells us that a patch to add PlayStation Trophy support to the game will be available by mid-August. Company co-president Evan Wells says that the update has already been submitted for quality assurance testing and could hit sooner.
According to Wells, the patch was "incredibly easy" to implement because the game already contains preliminary support for Trophies via its Medals reward system. He further revealed that these hooks were actually included because Naughty Dog thought Sony would roll out Trophies before Uncharted's November 2007 launch.
As with other PS3 titles getting retroactive Trophy support, Uncharted will require those who've already completed the game to play through again in order to unlock Trophies, even if they had previously earned every Medal. Wells says this is primarily to prevent people from simply using someone else's save data to artificially bolster their Trophy collection. Shame on you for even thinking about it.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3)
Still playing this. Just over 60% complete. Poor GTA IV waits in the wings.
This is still a fun game and goodness does it get harder as you progress.
I just finished this one chapter after riding the jet ski or whatever it was, where I was in this huge room and there was a guy with an automatic rifle and another on a turret. They were shooting constantly while other bad guys were coming at me from left and right.
Then once you kill a good number of them, they start coming up from behind you. So you got this guy on the turret (the automatic rifle guy is easy to shoot down from a distance) firing at you repeatedly from the front while guys in the back are taking shots at you and rushing you at the same time.
Took a few tries to finally find the composure to get it right. Damn."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
