That is what it sounds like. I have read a few things that this is like a modern Mario side scroller.

Yes, and there's a more conventional side to LBP with a story mode. 50 levels and some bosses.

For the most part yes. Theres also a story mode. The fun thing is 4 people can play at once on a console, and you can even go online with up to 4 people on a single console. 8 player online is the max I believe.

I really think playing this online will be a blast, no telling what people will come up with.

The funny thing is someone recently made a Mario level with a Mario sackboy.

Can't find the video but it is out there some where. With this game, it looks like anything is possible.

Geez, people paying up to $90 for Beta keys.

Over the past, oh, week or so, Sony have been handing out keys to the LittleBigPlanet beta. They've been limited, yeah, but if you hang around long enough (or keep an eye on your RSS feeds) it shouldn't be too hard to get your hands on one. But, hey, why go to all the hard work when you can buy your way in? Yes, continuing in the fine tradition of half-witted internet capitalism, people are selling their LBP beta keys online, and other people are buying them. For up to USD$90 a pop. Twice the price of the full retail game that's out in just a few weeks.

Also great to see the folks at Kotaku up on their math.

Got a beta code last night thanks to 1Up.com. Played for about an hour today, first 35 minutes or so is nothing but run through tutorials. Was able to run through a few levels before having to quit. The game is even more fun that I thought it was going to be and I've yet to create anything or run through any of the user created levels.

Will be pre-ordering this bad boy this weekend along with Fable II. October is going to be a great month.
