      None technically
Haunting Ground and Rule of Rose tried, didn't really go so well.

Gamesradar just did a thing on dog assistants actually (neither of those games mentioned): http://www.gamesradar.com/f/the-top-...82817449647065

I don't see how anybody could not like the inclusion of the dog, let alone be worried that it may be some kind of hindrance in anyway. Lionhead knows AI. The AI for the players creature in Black & White is brilliant, and everything learned from that is being applied to the dog in Fable 2, and it clearly shows in videos.

Some people just don't like forced companions maybe. Nevermind whether its done right or wrong. I was looking forward to Fable 2 and the new PoP alot more before learning about the companions.

I remember renting a game on the Xbox. I think it was called Dead To Rights. Seems like I remember a dog being in it.

The virtual dog companion is in this fall, Fable 2 and Fallout 3.

Thats true, I bought that game. I remember it because I beat in 3 days (about 8-9 hours) and it only took that long becuase of the bs buttonmashing you had to do in the prison. Never tried the sequel because in the previews I read they'd made it easier because people thought the first game was hard.... what?

I think this falls in the 'don't knock it 'till you try it' category. You can probably ignore it most of the time too. I know you didn't say this, but I don't think someone could justify saying that they won't like the game now because of the dog (simply because they haven't played it)

I have a dog (bulldog), and the only thing I don't want is the dog to be of a type that I don't like (like a waterdog, or huskie). I think I remember PM of lionhead saying the dog's appearance will changed based on your character, or maybe the way you treat the dog? , not sure, but I'm failry certain your dog will look different than mine.

Yep, I rented it and beat it within the rental period.

How does having a dog take away from anything? If you don't want to interact with it then you don't have to.

Its amazing how such bright guys can choose to to implement the most mind numbingly inane design decisions and ruin a game because of it(IMO, of course)

That video brings to a close my interest in Fable 2.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Different strokes I guess. Along with co-op and a free-roaming world, I think the dog is one of the best additions.

Yeah, it personally amazes me that some people think it's that bad a design decision...I dunno, just don't get all the companion hate, relationships and a complete "fictional life" are what Fable and Fable 2 have always been about....Do these people also hate that you can get married? Will they even have fun with the game?
