    Re: Fable 2

Gametrailers put up that very short trailer. Knocks a dude in the well at the end.

My interest is slowly rising as it seems more and more like they are delivering on early touted gameplay features this time unlike past Molyneux games.

Beautiful. I loved the style of the first game and glad to see they're going in that same direction. I cant' friggin' wait for this game.

Have we been given a release date besides Holiday 2008? Despite its shortcomings, Fable really was one of my favorite games last-gen. There was just something about it, and like I Tendrils I really like the art style.

Nope, but apparently we will get a date soon. My guess would be at E3 next month.

Lack of updates and video diary six

Yeah, there have been hardly any updates lately; so much has been going on! Everyone is working really hard, its crunch in Guildford and we're working our arses off on Fable 2 and the other game. There's just not enough hours in the day, but I'm going to try and post more again in all the blogs. Don't count on any developers making any postings, they're all dug in with the bug fixing and whatever else, although I like to read what they post.

Video diary 6 is now locked for a release on 24th June! That's a date there! Yeah!! Number seven hasn't been made yet, but nine has had a first pass, work on episode seven won't start for a couple of weeks but you will get to see some other things in the meantime... This Friday there'll be three new screenshots for subscribers to the Fable 2 newsletter and we've got even better things lined up for fans of stories later on in this month's programming! Oh and there will be MORE.

Tomorrow (the same Friday as the screenshots) I'm going to try out my new (untested) technical solution for HD capture from a dev kit with all bells and whistles on. It's going to ROCK! YEAH!!! I need a USB keyboard first.

A lot of new people have been starting on the team; numerous testers are playing the game around the clock, it's a sight to behold! The Bug Blitz you know from one of the video diaries is now in absolute full swing. IT'S SO EXCITING. Tensions for some people are growing extremely tight, like a donkey's hole; nevertheless I'd not want to be anywhere else right now as a gamer working with so many gifted talents on Fable 2. Reminds me of the first game I ever worked on as a community manager -- aka the crunch on Fable. Each day gone is a day closer to that final date (which is going to be announced real soon I-HOPE-NOW-YEAH!!!). Scary times!

Louise seems to be coping very well I saw her talking on a headphone while eating a take away meal. There are many of those being eaten of late. Peter reminds me of a bear and other times of a sneaky student. The goal at the moment is to film everyone as much as I can, each day there's being filmed now (with the stress on, this is not easy) and hopefully there is footage of everyone on the development team. I'm trying to have the camera 'observe' what goes on. The total hours of footage is getting close to 80 now. So much to work with...it's scary...and now for that HD game footage, yeah?

Can't wait for this..I'm not really into RPG's & Fable is the only one I've ever played to the end.

The details & pics/video released so far look very promising.

                  Fable 2: Meet the Populous

Being a hero doesn't mean much if there aren't people around to appreciate it. Here's a fun fact you may not have known: Fable 2 has a lot of AI controlled people in it to glorify or villify you. Fancy that. In the name of these non-player characters (NPCs), we've put together a feature to introduce you to them and fill you in on how much they matter to the world of Albion. We'll begin with the introduction of three NPCs that you'll likely bump into on the road to becoming a hero. So meet Arfur, Barnum and Giles and then continue on for an interview with Dene Carter, creative director for Fable 2, on interacting with these chaps and more.

Fable 2 Diary Ep 6: Art and the Hero

Furiously scribbling away and glued to their monitors all day, Lionhead’s artists are light at heart but hard at work on the Xbox 360 exclusive “Fable 2,” the highly-anticipated sequel to the best-selling Xbox exclusive “Fable.” In Episode 6, the team shares their thoughts on the importance of concept art and technical animations in the creation of “Fable 2” and challenges that they must overcome. In a game that allows players to truly live the life they choose, where every choice continually defines who the character becomes, the art of morphing the hero also cannot be missed. Hear the artistic crew explain the morphing of the hero and customization features that will be expanding leaps and bounds beyond the scope and depth of the original Xbox classic. The lads on the team also take a break from their desks to answer the question: “What would you do if you were a woman for a day?”

Man, this game cant come soon enough. This holiday season (Oct-Jan) is going to kill my wallet if even 3/4 of the games I'm anticipating are any good.

This game looks beautiful. I have never played the original, does the story from the first one tie to the sequel?

What is the difference between the regular Fable vs. The Lost Chapters version?

The Lost Chapters version has a new island, different ending, a "dragon", and more missions.

Lost Chapters is just sort of an expansion on the game. It gives you maybe 4 extra hours of content. If you haven't played the original I would definitely give Lost Chapters a try, such a fun game. If you are limited on time you can get through the main story rather quickly or you can roam around the world for countless hours running up to random people and farting.

                                Fable II's Limited Collector's Edition
Pre-order a copy of "Fable II," and earn or gamble away in-game gold via Xbox LIVE Arcade Fable II Pub Games in preparation for the game's full retail launch later this year.

Lionhead Studios and Microsoft Game Studios today announced that consumers who pre-order a copy of the Xbox 360 exclusive, "Fable II," at participating retailers worldwide, will be given free access to download the "Fable II" Pub Games when they are released this August.

Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade, fans can transfer the gold earned in these casino-style mini-games to the world of "Fable II," when the game is available later this year. The final names of the Xbox LIVE Arcade "Fable II" Pub Games (which will be available as one download) are: "Keystone," which is a combination of Craps and Roulette, "Spinnerbox," which is an updated take on slot machines, and "Fortune's Tower," which is a press your luck style of game. The download will also include a Shell, which is a tutorial of all three games.

Now and for the first time ever, "Fable II" fans can get a head start on their virtual experience, starting their long awaited quest through this sequel with gold in the bank and the ability to purchase items right off the bat, such as weapons, clothing, houses, dog tricks and more - an experience that can only be found on Xbox LIVE Arcade. The "Fable II" Pub Games will also be available for purchase over Xbox LIVE in August for those that do not pre-order "Fable II" for 800MS points.

Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios also announced details of a limited collector's edition of "Fable II" available for pre-order at retailers worldwide, for a suggested price of $79.99 USD. The limited collector's edition includes: a bonus disc with a new behind-the-scenes making of video, collectible Hobbe figure, a LIVE trial card and additional in-game content (an Xbox LIVE account is required to access the limited collector's edition bonus in-game content). The "Fable II" standard addition is also available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of $59.99. "Keystone," "Spinnerbox" and "Fortune's Tower" will also be embedded as part of the full retail copy of "Fable II" (limited collector's and standard editions).
