They expanded the amount of content outside the main quest over the first game a lot. I've barely scratched the surface of the main quest, because there's so much to do outside of it. I didn't think it was that fun to be evil in the first game, but Fable II is whole different story. It's really awesome being truly evil. My dog has completely changed. He's a rottweiler with red eyes and a shiny spiked collar. I named him Captain Morgan. My hero has changed a little more too. He now has green eyes, grey and green skin. I have 2 cuts across my stomach and my veins look like their starting to glow red. Horns have also grown out more. I'm trying to find some white dye, because I'm interested in what my hero would look like with white hair.

Re: Fable 2
Okay, this game - even after only 2-3 hours of playing, is one of the best action RPGs I have played. There's just so much to do outside of the main quests and it all has a good amount of depth behind it.
I was running around in my Chicken Suit last night - good lookin' stuff. I haven't seen anybody else, so if any of you Fable players want to add me go ahead.
I LOVE the dog, too. Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating though because he's always warning you of enemies ahead and getting you treasure, but I love the dog. Plus, he adds to the atmosphere a hell of a lot, especially when you're in the dark or in a cave, with the music and you see your dog is scared and whimpering - good stuff.
And the scene at the beginning at the castle - um, wow.

How does it compare gameplay wise to mass effect, I know the stories are way different.Comment

Re: Fable 2
Enjoying the game quite a bit - but two things bugs me.
1.) The travel screen that comes up when you approach an area. Instead of entering a city, or traveling from city to city and seeing everything between - you hit a point where it just says on the screen "City Name, Miles Away, Hours on Foot", and then basically loads you to a new area. It makes the world feel very small.
2.) It's extremely linear. Yes, you can go off the path - but onto other predetermined paths. It's not an open world at all - you can't just go off the path and travel through all your surroundings, and you can only get to a place via a specific path. When you go off the path, there are invisible walls, and because there's no jump - they just make rocks and slopes that you can't get over. Again, it makes the area feel less like an open world - and more like a small region.
Other than those two things - it's quite fun. I'm enjoying the magic aspect quite a bit. I just feel like the world is very small, and it feels very linear to me; I was kind of expecting a larger world, and I thought they said it was going to be very open where you could explore lots.Comment

Re: Fable 2
Just earned my halo! Woohooo for goody goody characters.
I actually gave up on the strength upgrades too because it makes my chick look way too butch, so I'm concentrating on guns.
The story really takes some twists and turns and tests how good do you really want to be if you are risking your butt for strangers.Comment

Re: Fable 2
One complaint is that my 360 is LOUD while playing. Ridiculously loud. I'm going to try a new disc tomorrow, hope this fixes the problem.Comment

Re: Fable 2
anyone hear/experience a huge bug in the game that basically makes the game unplayable?
When you go to Oakdale and talk to the abbot, if you try to leave before he finishes talking, apparently you cannot continue the quest and the game thusly cannot be moved forward at all...
anyone else hear that? I'm actually experiencing it right now..played about 2-3 more hours and i can't talk to him again, nor can i do anything outside of walk around the same town or wonder aimlessly. Browerstone is closed until this quest is over and i cant even finish the quest..

Re: Fable 2
SpoilerI rescued the Hero of Will last night and let me just say that that may be one of my most favorite scenes in a video game of all time. The whole part leading up to it with the Commandant torturing you and you can try to keep your dignity at the cost of EXP, and then finally getting your revenge on him. And then the escape with the Hero of Will that ensues is just magnificent. Such an awesome part of the game.Comment

Re: Fable 2
Is anyone having trouble hearing people on your friends list via voice chat? It worked yesterday, but today I can't hear anyone around me.
TJ and Skyboxer I've been trying to chat with you guys forever, but no one can hear me. Paul same thing with you...
Wish I knew what deal was. I think Skyboxer was having same issue...
Not gamekiller, just nice to have people to talk to.Comment
