Bottom line....Microsoft and Billy Boy have more money than GOD and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I don't see Microsoft bowing out to Sony...Gates is going to go to war to get his piece of the gaming industry pie. It would benefit ALL gamers if there continued to be quality competition for Sony's goliath.

The XBox will be strong in a couple of years. Give it time. This is their first shot at it. They have to set up a good base first, and continue from there. A solid piece of hardware is where they wanted to start from first, and that's good. They dropped the prices on these, which is why they are losing money. But they do this so that more machines get out there. Then they build upon that with good games, and other things, like XBox Live. They make money on software, not hardware. Companies, 3rd party, have to get used to how to code for this machine, which I hear is easier to do than with the PS2. They are on the right track. They aren't going anywhere.

Oh, and I hear that XBox Lite should be pretty nice. If you haven't heard about that, it's an XBox that has gone on a diet. Slimmer, with more entertainment features. I don't have the exact details, but I remember reading about it.

Great post guys XBOX Live is a pretty good to have and it is probably where they will make up their deniro. I Know that because they have money they can stand to lose it for now. I 'm saying its short term, I 'm stating that Power is only good, if you competition is weak.

But, for the time being, the competition is weak when it comes to online capability. That's the market where the money will be made in the next 5 years!

I just bought another Gamecube to play Zelda, Mario and Metroid, but still you can't be farther from the truth.

Nintendo has a few good games but last I checked they are in 3rd place in hardware sales which is pretty sad when you remember it is the cheapest console of the 3.

And look at all those sports games Gamecube owners have to look forward to... Whoops even EA Sports is abandoning that ship. Oh sure we will see Madden and maybe then NHL series but they are going to stop alot of the other titles and only put them on Xbox and PS2.

All I hope is Nintendo does not make us wait another 6 years for the next Mario. To be honest after 6 years what we got with Mario Sunshine was a bit of a letdown.

And what is killing Nintendo is the lack of 3rd party sales. Each console MFG has made some great games but no console can survive on 1st party software alone.

I have a Ps2 and Cube. My sports games are played on the Ps2. All my action/Adventure games though resides on the cube. Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0, Metroid, Mario, etc.

There is a plenty of worth while titles on the cube that you can;t get anywhere else. On the xbox there is one. I have played the xbox a little. im not impressed. Sure the graphics look better but im not a graphics person. I like the pretty looks. But from Ps2 to cube to Xbox all look close enough to me.

If i had to put my money down on one system and one system only. It definetly would not be an Xbox. All the good titles that are offered are avaible on on other systems. The others are definetly not worth buy an Xbox over. Ps2 and Cube have titles that make you want the system to play and you can;t get them anywhere else.
