Killswitch was pretty easy
Devildriver was pretty easy
Machine Head was fast, but easy
Airbourne was extremely easy
Dream Theater is not playing around
Megadeth is fun with a reasonable solo

I four or five starred everything I'm calling easy, and I'm rusty because I've been playing drums, so I know people who are playing guitar on a regular basis shouldn't have any trouble.

I don't know... I found the whole Roadrunner pack difficult except Airbourne. All the songs if I don't alt-strum, I'll tire my arm out quickly, and if I alt-strum, I can't keep a beat. I guess its just the metal genre that I'm not good at.

Just played My Curse again, and I know it's a song I could five star, but my freaking left hand just kills. It's really been bad lately.

I feel I can't even make it through a song like Casey Jones without my hand hurting/cramping up on me.

I don't know what happened, but I need to fix it ASAP.

Just played My Curse again, and I know it's a song I could five star, but my freaking left hand just kills. It's really been bad lately.

Nope. Right hand is my strumming hand.

Just simply switching from something as simple as GR to GY and back to GR is causing cramps in my forearm.

And if you have a song like My Curse where it's fast strumming and finger movements, it's hitting me hard.

It could possibly be that I don't stretch (generally have back problems) so maybe that it's affecting my arm/fingers?

Any idea on how to improve?

Outside of this song and Airbourne, the rest of the songs in the RR pack would just destroy me. Not even worth trying.

I've only beaten like 2 or 3 of the RR pack because I'll play the 1st 30 seconds and my arm cramps. Thats when I resort to alt-strumming, which leads to no multipliers, which leads to a crappy score, so I quit lol.

Let me offer some help on My Curse:

-definitely have to alt strum
-don't focus on both beats(meaning the held note, and the alternate note). In the beginning, you'll notice that there is a held note (first one is yellow) for each part of the pattern
-this is called a "pedal note" pattern
-Hold the pedal(lowest) note or button, and focus all of your timing on the changing notes

(I'll come back and edit this to be correct)
If I remember the beginning, it goes YB, Y, B(or O) and then alternates for a bit before the same bit happens with RY.
So when you're strumming, you focus on the the Blue and the Orange, and just leave your hand on the yellow.

So let's make a little chart...
YB, Y, B, O, B, O, B, O
up, d, up, d, u, d, u, d --and in your head, try to count
--, --, 1, -, 2, -, 3, -

The dashes stand for "and". So the count would go: and a one and two and three and four etc..

That probably sounds confusing. I might post a vid. I feel compelled to help because this is just a coordination thing, and once you get it, it'll be really easy from that point on.
