Finally scraped through Dont Fear the Reaper tonight on expert drums. Now I have to tackle WGFA and RttH to get the AN-I-MAL!!!! achievement. I have already promised myself that if I can do it I will buy a real drumset.

Quick question--if I have a 360 guitar, can I take it to a friends house and use it on his PS3? I see it's just a USB connection, so that makes me think I can, but I wasn't sure.

no you can't. ps3 guitars don't work on the 360 and 360 guitars don't work on ps3s.

My fiancee and i have been playing for an hour or so a night and she has progressed to Medium on drums (and on all songs not named Green Grass or Enter Sandman she is getting higher than a 97%). We'er at a point where to get more fans we have to play at a higher difficulty level. Will it work if i go to expert on guitar and she stays on medium, or does she have to move up a level also.

Thank you Rock Band for proving that video games are fun and addicting (i knew this, just took her a while to be convinced)

You both have to move up.

My friends and I are at a point where we have to play at Expert. We're never getting anymore fans, hahah.

The only thing I really don't like about Rock Band (except their guitar compared to GH) is the whole fan thing based on difficulty. I wish you could play the game all the way through without having to do expert.

I agree. Im not great, but i can handle both guitars on expert and struggle through and im pretty good on drums, but when playing with my fiancee, she is, shall we say, rythmically challenged. She loves the game and is getting tons better, but she keeps getting aggravates when she and i will own a song and she sees "You gained 0 fans. Please play at a higher difficulty level" There isnt that payoff for her anymore, and Hard on drums is pretty difficult for her. So we just play all songs on Medium and say screw the fans!

I agree as well. On guitar, Hard is a huge step up from Medium because it adds the Orange note and speeds things up. I've never even tried Expert, but I have a feeling I will bomb it.

my wife and I quit playing the band world tour mode for that reason. I'm all the game having different difficulties that allow you to unlock stuff like clothing or guitars and stuff, but don't prevent someone from playing all venues in the game because not everyone in the band can play at expert.

I could not agree with guys more.

Because I'm such a loner, I have to World Tour on guitar and vocals all by lonesome and I struggle mightily on many of the HARD level songs. I can only save myself so many times.

I'm losing fans out the waz.

I tried that, but i found as i messed up on the guitar or drums (whichever i was playing in addition to singing) i would drop a colorful four letter word to describe what my playing ability was related to and that would prevent me from singing the right lyrics.......which would cause me to again, curse.......its a vicious cycle.

I'd say the move from Medium to Hard was a lot tougher than Hard to Expert for me. Once I figured out that it's easier to start with your pinky on orange and play green and red with your index finger, it got better.

Now drums ... I'll always suck at drums.

Side note: Anybody else downloaded Coheed & Cambria's "Ten Speed (of God's Blood & Burial)" yet? I haven't been able to stop playing it. Very fun song.

I'd say the move from Medium to Hard was a lot tougher than Hard to Expert for me. Once I figured out that it's easier to start with your pinky on orange and play green and red with your index finger, it got better.

I think this is GREAT advice. Good post.
