Sweet mother of God. If I was doing that well on a song that tough, I'd tell Jesus himself to hold on, much less my own mother. Good for him that he told her to wait.

It seems like on a song like that, 201,000 seems a little low when you just went 100%. I would've assumed it would've been more points.

Make sure you have your speakers down on the end of that one if you have kids around (language).

That's inhuman. I don't even know how doing that is possible. The crazy thing is that, as gamers, we all strive to beat games on their hardest level but when we see something like that we are the first to say that guy has reached the ultimate geek status.

I don't really have the kind of cash where I should be throwing down for a $170 game but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get it anyway.

I own every other Harmonix game and I feel a void without it.

Plus this clip really had me howling:

Well, you'll love yourself after playing it.

Last weekend I started a 4 man band w/ friends and we just kept playing and playing and drinking and drinking..the next day my living room looked like a frat house lol.

I actually play a lot w/ my gfriend too, where I play drums. My thing is i want to get the best d-load songs before january (and the half price deal) is over.

The one bad thing is it's hard to put away if at all and looks so silly sitting there when it's not being used. ( i don't know what to do w/ it)

                          K, screw it.

I'm tired of the inner debate I'm having with myself. I'm going tomorrow and buying it, I don't care.

I'm already coming up with crazy ideas for my girlfriend and I's band (I volunteered her because I'm new to this city and don't have a ton of friends).

She is being a ***** about the idea of singing so I'm thinking of playing the drums and singing while she plays the guitar. Is that even possible? Anyone try it?

If you know the song well, you could do it.

Otherwise, it'd be damn near impossible to drum and look up to see the lyrics at the same time.

Harmonix and EA sends word that individual instrument peripherals for Rock Band will begin shipping to U.S. store shelves beginning on February 12th.

Harmonix, one of the world’s leading developers of music-based games, and MTV Games, part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), along with distribution partner Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), announced today that individual instrument peripherals for Rock Band™ will start shipping to U.S. store shelves beginning on February 12th.

“The release of standalone instruments allows Rock Band musicians to enjoy the full Rock Band experience, including drum, microphone and guitar head-to-head modes, creating a whole new level of competitive fun,” said Alex Rigopulos, CEO and co-founder, Harmonix. “We’re also delivering a stand-alone wireless guitar solution for all versions of Rock Band as well as providing the opportunity for consumers to build their band one instrument at a time.”

With standalone instrument peripherals being made available, players have the opportunity to expand the full Rock Bandexperience by competing in challenging play modes such as Microphone vs. Microphone, Drum vs. Drum and Guitar vs. Guitar. With instrument “versus” modes, gamers can battle against each other in “Score Duel” mode for the high score or in the challenging “Tug-O-War” mode, where giving the best performance is key. These exciting “versus” modes can be played locally or online and work with all Rock Band downloaded song tracks. In order to play downloadable content for head-to-head matches all players must own the same downloadable track. In addition, gamers can buy a new wireless standalone guitar to round out their Rock Band Special Edition Bundle or choose to build their band piece by piece through the purchase of individual software and instruments.

Rockers who forwent the big Rock Band boxed bundle will be happy to know that today, Harmonix confirmed release dates for a few standalone Rock Band peripherals including a wireless Stratocaster that everyone has been eagerly anticipating. The standalone drum set will be available February 12th in the U.S. and retail for $90, while the wireless Stratocaster guitar will hit retailers April 1st for $60. 360 fanboys will also be happy to know that pricing for the PS3 and 360 Rock Band peripherals are the same. Also, Harmonix didn't confirm if or when the Rock Band microphone would be available as a standalone peripheral or mention any details about the pretty light and fog bundle. Cuz, you know, we're super excited for the officially licensed Rock Band fog.

So for $90 for drums + $60 for game = No thanks, cough up a few more bucks and you'll get a mic and an extra guitar.
