Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
Two more questions....
1) if youre playing drums (or anything i guess), and you mess up, can you hear you are messing up, does the song sound like you are hitting wrong notes, or wrong beats. For instance, if i just bang away on the bass pedal, would you hear that through the game?
2) Also, i notice on the drum fills, you kick back in with the green button (cymbals), if i just do nothing but hit the green pad the whole fill, will it show that i triggered the end to quick, or do i just need to hit it on that last note.
I think its interesting how it picks up what youre playing, does it do the same on any guitar fill or solo (if there are any, dont know much about game yet, just watching you tube videos.)Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

You have to hit the green crash at the end of a fill in order to activate it. There is a bit of timing to it if you are hitting different pads first, but technically you could just ride the crash all the way through the fill and get the star power. You'd probably hit it an extra time at the end and ruin your consecutive notes streak, though.
The guitar freeform sections only occur during the big rock endings, and as best as I can it always plays the same master track, unlike the drum freeform sections.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
There's a miss sound that plays if you miss a drum note; if you miss a bass kick, it sounds like a muted bass kick, and the master track stops until you hit a correct note, a la the guitar interface in Guitar Hero, if you've played that. There's no sound for a missed vocal section, but if you do poorly enough you'll be greeted with a chorus of boos fairly quickly.

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
Get Rock Band. I know it's $80 more, but it's worth it, especially if you're going to have people over to play it. It is a great party game, but it's also fun by yourself.Comment

Is it a game that my fiancee will want to play. She's into music, not so much video games.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
If she likes music, she'll like playing it. My wife likes old school (Nintendo-era) games and never really played Xbox or 360. At first, she thought the whole Guitar Hero/Rock Band idea was dumb, but then she played the drums on Rock Band. Now she probably plays Rock Band more than I do. I'm glad that we've found a game that we can play together.Comment

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions
Anybody have a song stuck in their head from playing Rock Band? The following morning after playing Rock Band at night, I always have one of the songs I played stuck in my head.
My wife was complaining about having Tom Sawyer stuck in her head today, I had Train Keep Rollin'.Comment
