Bingo. I just cannot play fast repetitive notes in this game. It frustrates me to death, especially on the songs that are also on GH3. My wife, who kicks my butt in GH, feels the same way. She won't even play the game because of it. I at least play the guitar some when new DLC comes out.

Re: Harmonix's Rock Band now with Impressions

I've improved some with the fast parts, but it still sucks. On GH, I could just go up and down and hit almost everything. This guitar just doesn't seem to respond fast enough. The fast parts in Creep are a good example of how frustrating it can be.

On a side note, the drums are down right addictive once you get the hang of them. I'm trying to beat Mississippi Queen to finish up the 2nd tier of songs on my Tour. Stupid rapid bass kicks...

I was having trouble with the guitar until I calibrated. My audio needed to be set to 45ms..

Anybody else d/l the classic rock pack? I did as well as the new Crue song.

Was cool to play Simple Man, easy, but fun to play and that's all that matter to me. Plus after banging my head into the wall trying to play that stupid Molly Hatchett song, it was a nice break!

I didn't dl the pack but I did dl simple man. Lots of fun. Especially since it's going to be the Mother/Groom song @ my wedding.

I just got this over the weekend and am having a blast. If I keep on egging my fiance to play she might be the next runaway bride.

I also ordered the rubber gum pads to reduce the noise and give the drums a more realistic kick back. I'll get the pedal metal when I get around to playing on hard. I don't need to do anything special on medium yet with the bass drum so I've been real delicate with it so far..

I don't think the pedal metal will be necessary. Don't wear a shoe on your bass foot and rest the ball of your foot at the top of the pedal. People stomping on the middle of a plastic pedal can expect to get the predictable result. You can put a decent amount of force on the pedal if you set your foot properly and "drop" your foot rather than "stomp" your foot.

This is the type of surface normal electronic drum kits are made out of.

I guess I'll hold off on the pedal metal as I do play without a shoe on and pretty much just play heel down.

I bought some non foam ones off of ebay. I just got this game 2 weeks ago. I played drums in a rock/metal band YEARS ago, but I still hit pretty hard so with a 2 year old sleeping I don't want to make a ton of noise. I'm hoping these do the trick and I've had to play mostly guitar while eveyone's sleeping.

They really need to relase a patch for online World Tour. Imagine the possibilities. I keep telling myself to play this game, but somehow I don't get into it as much as I do with friends. Anybody hear any news on this? I heard its a big possibility, but thats about it.

There are videos on youtube that show samples of people playing with the gum rubber added. If you've drummed before you'll notice more of a difference in the rebound than the nice although the noise reduction is nice.

Finally finished Hard tour. I'm not one of those guys that have played guitar her a bazillion times, so getting through Flirting With Disaster's solo was a huge accoplishment for me. GGaHT I got first time through, although I hear it's the hardest song on expert, the solo is about a week long.

I still am having some issues with Ride the Lightning however, but the other Metallica songs are done.

And for fun I started a hard vocal career, and bombed on the Yeah Yeah Yeah's song. Dam chick singers!

I know what you mean Jistic. Flirtin' With Disaster was the last song I could pass on Hard.

I've currently gotten all the way through on Expert guitar except four songs (GGaHT, Flirtin' With Disaster, Highway Star, and Train Kept-a-Rollin). Somehow I managed to pass Run To the Hills on expert.

I even did a vocal tour on Hard and passed every song in a single day. The hardest song for me was Sufferagette City by David Bowie. I think after failing that song a 5th straight time, I had a new hatred for that man. Luckily by the 10th, I passed it.

Currently through 12 songs on expert vocals.
