I need to get my dad to play sometime. He'd have a blast playing the Dead's songs.

And to be honest, I'm not surprised Rush failed. Starting off on expert would be hard for anyone...especially on guitar. Singing should be easy for him, and drumming you can pick up easy if you know the music and know what you're doing. Playing guitar with buttons instead of chords must **** with someone's mind.

My guitar stopped working right after EA decided to start enforcing the warranty deadline, so I wasn't able to send it back for repairs. It doesn't get recognized by my 360, so I assumed there was something wrong with the USB cable.
Last night I opened the guitar and discovered that I was right. There are four small wires coming out of the USB cable and one of them had become disconnected from the circuit board. I think it can be reattached, but would need to be soldered. It's about the size a pen tip, so I would need a very small soldering gun. My father-in-law has one, but I'm not sure if it will be small enough. I'm wondering if I took it to a computer repair shop whether they would fix it for me since I would assume they would have a soldering gun that size. Much rather fix the guitar then shell out $60 for a new one.

You do realize they re-extended the warranty, right? You have until October, I believe to return products...I assume it co-incides with the release of the RB2 instruments, so they probably want that warranty over by then.

Speaking of which...

I sent in to get a new bass pedal, signed up for the type of replacement that didn't charge a credit card (they send you an empty box, you send broken item, they send new item)...however, I was given a new bass pedal in the original packaging. Do I still have to send in the broken one?

Nope. I just did the same thing last week. Got the new one w/out giving the credit card number and just pitched the old one. No worries.

Ugh, I didn't know that. I hope they don't notice that I opened the guitar.

Well my score still hasn't updated but that doesn't matter anymore... just played it again and scored 300,593 points on it!

Thats up like nearly 30,000 points from my original 5-star. Now that I wish I could've recorded. That was probably the best run on any song I've had.

BTW, this is using a Les Paul guitar. I actually have a question about the RB guitar. During solos, do you really never have to strum since you can use the solo buttons? That would make things so much easier.

Uploading this may be a problem. Its a .VRO file, so I have to convert it, but I would have to buy a program I think. I don't think youtube accepts this file, even though I'm trying to upload it there at this moment.

EDIT: Well turns out the camera came with a program, so it should be converting right now. Hopefully...

I FINALLY beat Ride the Lightning on Expert guitar.

I love the song but man is it hard. The four button zig zags at the beginning of the solo are killer. I managed to get through it without overdrive, so I could save it for the later part in the solo that normally kills me.

I also beat Blackened and ...And Justice for All a couple of days ago, so the Metallica pack is conquered.

That Metallica pack is tough... I still haven't beaten Blackened yet. Its too tiring for me lol.
