    Re: Fallout 3

As great as this game is, I have one pet peeve that stopped me from playing. Its been a couple of months since I've touched this game.

The problem is me having prior knowledge that enemies don't respawn. Now what are the chances that this would even matter, considering the many hours/areas in the game?

I don't know, but knowing that I could wipe the entire map clean and have nothing else to do turns me off, lol.

To remedy the problem, I sold the console version and bought the pc game, which has a huge mod community, and content which allows enemy respawn. By this time, I just completely lost interest so it didn't matter anymore, lol.

I just got that perk last week and it is great. There are so many places spread out that I never would of known about.

Ya, I was truly shocked by how many places there were. I didn't get the perk when it first came available either. I waited for a few levels and then assigned it. I was more than willing to walk around and explore everything.

Huh? I think there are respawning enemies. Yesterday I walked into a Raider spawn, then quickly dispatched them. Odd to know, but I don't really care. If I wipe the map clean, then I guess I will go with a new save.

Is there a map out on the net with all of the places exposed? Takes a long time to venture around.

Also note there is a level 20 perk that opens the whole map up for you to see. PRetty awesome for exploration.

I bought Point Lookout today, pretty cool. Didn't really progress into the main quest, but I did a really cool side quest called "The Velvet Curtain".

Also, I love the Blackwater Rifle (just a unique -and better- version of the lever action rifle.)

Just discovered this game, never into RPGS. But damn, I was addicted at first-rent...immediately purchased a used copy at Gamestop.

I'm going to be playing this game for months, possibly years.

I love the VATS system...so addicting. Damn super mutants however!

I was the same way. Didn't play RPG's but played this and consider it my favorite game of all time. Now I'm playing mass effect and really enjoying it too.

There are respawns at like raider bases I think.

But I'm happy there isn't constant respawning that killed Far Cry 2. If you played that game you would wipe out enemies at a check point and a minute later go back through the check point and there they are again. It got really old fast fighting the same enemies in the same location over and over agian.

This was also my first RPG game ever played and I love it. One of my favorite games of all time. I can spend hours on this game and not once get bored.

VATS is awesome. I love the gruesome kills you do.

Yeah constant respawning would kill the Fallout game like it did FC2. FC2 was still a good game but the respawning really ruined it totally. I like the randomness of encounters that happen in FO3.

I remember seeing some random guy walking past out in the wasteland smoking a cigarette. I thought i'd just hang back and watch him for a while and i ended up following him for over an hour as he fought off super mutants, scorpions etc untill he found his hideout. I then broke into the hideout, killed him (it was my 2nd play through an an "evil" character) and stole all of his stuff which included a fat man, scoped magnum and about 1000 caps.

The next fallout is a must buy imo.

Wow! Ya, I think I'm gonna pop this in tomorrow and go exploring. I have already beaten it once, going again through as an evil guy. I am in the part of the story where I need to find GNR radio, could I just start exploring and do nothing but side stuff?

That's what i did for 50 or more hours after Megaton. So much fun just walking off into the countryside and seeing what you can find.
