EBgames which is the same as gamestop...it's standardized so you should get the same deal.

not sure if canada vs usa has diff trade in values though.

One ? Do I need to get it before finishing the main game?
If you want broken steel you should, the others you dont need to. The best thing about Broken Steel is alowing you to keep playing at the end instead of ending. It also raises your lvl cap and adds new missions and enemies. The Pit, Ancorage and Point Lookout open new places in DC to go, a ferry to get to Point Lookout becomes availiable and Im not quite sure how you get to The Pit, never went to it on my map.

through a train tunnel way in on the top of the map. They did a decent job making these spots worth going back to for various reasons. Like the pitt has an ammo press there to make ammo for guns that are quite hard to find in large quantities.

How its the GOTY going to be different form the original version? Is the only difference going to be the added DLC? I regretfully traded in Fallout 3 a few months ago for NCAA ..and really want it back again. Do you guys suggest to just wait til Oct 13? I'm on PS3 by the way.

it's got all 5 DLC packs on the disk. Not bad at all considering each DLC costs $10 by themselves.

                      Re: Fallout 3

I've been craving a fun non-sports game with a deep storyline and some open ended gameplay.

I've read a bit about Fallout 3, but a couple of things concern me:

                      1. I hated (and I mean hated) Oblivion. People have compared this game to that. Is it true?
                      2. I heard that once you complete the game it's over. With the GoTY edition allow further play once the story has been completed.

Also, how realistic is the fighting? Will enemies, and myself, be able to take a shotgun blast to the face and still live?

                      Thanks!

It's pretty much the Oblivion engine. Characters all have that same basic Oblivion look, the dialogue is pretty much the same (the way it zooms in), etc, etc. It feels a lot like Oblivion with guns in a sense. But the way your characters level is entirely different - you get experience points, and then you choose what skills to boost and what perks you take (as opposed to using skills to level up)

One of the DLC additions lets you continue after you 'beat it'. Not sure which one.

Fighting isn't realistic at all. It's stats based - if you have poor skills, and a tough enemy, you can shoot them in the face 3 times with a shotgun and take 1/2 their energy away.

That's what annoyed me the most. I wish the combat had been more FPS focused. It would have made the game far, far better.

That said - I really disliked Oblivion because I'm a Morrowind fan, and they really ****ed it up. However, Fallout 3 is fairly fun - my only real complaint is the combat.

Also, if you check out various bugs and glitches - the game is so open ended that it's absolutely filled with them. You can look up one quest on the special wiki page and find a list of 20 bugs/glitches related to JUST that one single quest. It's a little ridiculous.

For example - I just went to the wiki and picked a totally random quest that I've never heard of. Scroll down to the bugs section:

Oasis is a side quest in Fallout 3. It is also an Xbox 360, PC achievement, and a PlayStation 3 trophy. When the player character approaches Oasis, Tree Father Birch will ask that they follow him, saying that "He" has summoned them. If agreed to, Birch will unlock the gate to the village and lead the player character to an outdoor hut. Birch explains that he is the leader of the Treeminders, and that "He" has summoned the player character to the village. Although vague about who or what "He...

I'll probably pass on this game then and save my money for something else down the road.

Yea, if you didnt like the way Oblivion ran, then Fallout would not be for you. Personally Fallout 3 Is my favorite game of all time, They really nailed the Post Apocalyptic feeling and the fallout Universe.

Personally I did not have any problems with the Combat because if you stick to the story and go where it tells you to, for the first couple hours of gameplay then you will have no problem.

I have beat the game and When I still enjoy going out into the wasteland and discovering new places to go. Personally I would give it a rental because you might just love it.

I bought this & just popped it in a few hours ago & man, the Wasteland is HUGE!!! It felt overwhelming when I got out of the Vault. Good thing for the map. :P So far it looks like a good game though it looks funny how your character glides at first when running around.
