Re: How long is Fallout 3?
Does it show how long you've played in the game somewhere? I'm kind of curious how much time I've spent so far.Comment

during saves/loads. When you save, if you're using a rotation (like me) look at the previous save, it will show you i think there.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: How long is Fallout 3?
I'm working on all the 360 achievements and currently have 820 points after 61 hours of play. Done all the Miscellaneous quests, killed the last Behemoth yesterday (actually the Talon Company Mercs killed him for me, but i still got the achievement!) and i still have 3 more main quests to complete and 1 Bobblehead to find - using a guide for that - along with some other things like hacking terminals (still need 20, they are easy now that my Science is 100, just need to find them), speech successes (still need 19, dunno how i'll get this since no-one offers speech 'challenges' anymore) and need to create all the 'createable' weapons.
Once you hit Level 20 in the game, you can choose a perk that unlocks all locations on your map (you still have to physically travel to them first before you can fast travel to them) to make it ALOT easier to find new locations and landmarks, but i didn't hit Level 20 until my 50th hour or so. The Official Guide served me well in those first 50 hours.
The guide also reveal alternate choices to and consequences of each quest, which is useful if say you only have time to play through as an evil guy, but are keen to know what would have happened if you are good.Comment

I'd recommend the guide, i've found it extremely useful especially in finding the starting locations of certain side quests, as well as collectibles like Bobbleheads and unique weapons.

It's funny, i watched 'strategize' on xbla for those 3 weapons. I already had 2, but didn't know abou the 'crash site'. I also found a special chinese pistol today which was cool. I'm pretty sure most of the reviewers and journalists don't even know about all the stuff you can get.
I'm 65 hours in, and have been level 20 for a while. I found that the last 3 level ups came too quickly and I miss the cash noises for gaining xp. I finished the game by accident and have since gone back to an earlier save to go to every location in the game w/ the explorer perk.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: How long is Fallout 3?
Finished off the achievements (and the main quest) yesterday, 67 hours + about 1-2 more replaying certain parts in order to get the different Karma level achievements. Thoroughly enjoyed it throughout, although i felt the combat could've been improved - mainly hit detection, which still seems to be based on health points rather than locational damage, although at least crippling enemy limbs works well - and VATS was occasionally inconstent. The final battle was also a little disappointing but i had no issues to the conlusion of my story (both were certainly much better and more rewarding than Fable 2!).
I can't begin to imagine how much stuff i missed out on...i never came acrossSpoilerDogmeat or the White House for example (the latter completely slipped my mind until i noticed it was on my map after i chose the "Explorer" Perk).
things like hacking terminals (still need 20, they are easy now that my Science is 100, just need to find them), speech successes (still need 19, dunno how i'll get this since no-one offers speech 'challenges' anymore)
Spoiler5.
Four of them, including the one near the GNR Studios on that early quest, appear when you go to those locations. But there is one that doesn't appear normally, you have to trigger it to appear by completing a series of tasks.

SpoilerIf you know where to go, all you have to do is get the Teddy Bear out of the cage. You don't have to do any of the stuff before that.Comment

Re: Fallout 3
^ Serious? Because i went there first and even saw the object you mentioned, but never attempted to take it
So i did all the other crap lol. Oh well, at least i could fast travel to each of the locations at that point. In fact when i fast traveled back to the original location after going everywhere else,Spoilerthe Behemoth was already battling two Brotherhood Outcast soldiers and a Protection who took off ~80% of its health for me, i got the fatal strike in with my missile launcherComment

Re: Fallout 3
The "robot part" glitch I speak of is:
SpoilerAfter you complete the sidequest "Big Trouble In Big Town", you have a few options to choose after bringing back both townspeople. They're preparing for a Super Mutant attack and want your character to help out. There's one option, if you have enough Science skill, to "fix robots" that are supposed to patrol around the perimeter of Big Town and use their laser weapons against the Super Mutants. A crowd assembles outside the junkyard, where the robot parts are supposedly located, but in actuality, they're nowhere to be found as a result of an oversight by the developers. This affects all versions, but there's a way you can spawn the parts in the PC version. Xbox and PS3 owners are basically SOL until they release a patch.Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment

Re: Fallout 3
People have been complaining about the glitching, but I haven't seen any major, major stuff on my front. Just some weird NPC and graphics issues. The "broken robot parts" glitch, as said above, is almost unforgivable, though. But by no means is it gamebreaking. Hope they find a fix soon.
It has single handedly caused me to stop playing the game which is unfortunate because I was loving the game until the freezes started happening.Comment
