Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
Ubisoft is experiencing some record sales right now, and they're trying to maximize the success of their IPs. Splinter Cell was their biggest franchise at one point and remains very high on their list of priorities. I'd be shocked if they didn't release this game, as the anticipation is very high. Between avoiding GTA, hyping Endwar and the ridiculous sales of Vegas 2 and Assassin's Creed, they realize that they can make more money by biding their time and strategically releasing a very high quality Conviction.Last edited by Bornindamecca; 04-02-2008, 07:06 PM.Comment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I highly doubt ubisoft will cancel this game. It looks to be the most promising splintercell yet. Heck it looked great in video form a year ago, this game is a guarantee to sell a million, why in the world wouldn't they release it."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction (360 & PC)
I'm not so sure...I'll check it out when it drops, but to me, splinter cell 1 was the best by a large margin; it was the longest and had the most varied levels, more sniping, more agent vs agent action (near the end) you could throw things in a looping arc, or whip them like a fastball, you could wall jump anywhere, the variety was amazing. That game goes down as one of the best play-through's i've ever had and although the other games are good-great; they do not. 2 was the worst, then double agent, then chaos theory, then the original sits on top for me without the slightest bit of doubt.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Splinter Cell Conviction "back to the drawing board"
360-exclusive "officially on hold", says magazine report. Nothing this year.
Splinter Cell Conviction has been taken "back to the drawing board" by Ubisoft Montreal.
That's according to a report in the latest Xbox World 360 mag. Though Ubisoft isn't saying anything, the mag says it's heard that the surprising development decision has forced Splinter Cell back into the festive period of 2009 - or as late as Spring 2010.
Conviction has been in development for some years now, surfacing early last year with combat involving dynamic scenery and crowd stealth gameplay that focused on mixing in with the public in Washington DC - a bit like Assassin's.
According to XBW, it's likely that the decision was made after Conviction was outdated by more recent gaming developments - most notably Ubisoft's own Assassin's Creed.
Ubisoft's UbiDays event is due to take place in Paris next week, so hopefully we'll get an official word then.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Looking like Snake.
Some old concept art images.
Somebody will probably post info from the magazine in the next couple of days. Really looking forward to this one. A large team at Ubisoft Montreal has been working on it for about 2 years.

Ubisoft denies Conviction redesign
Ubisoft has dismissed rumours that Splinter Cell Conviction is heading back to the drawing board as speculation.
The publisher was responding to a report in Xbox World 360 magazine that claimed the game was being redesigned because it wasn't groundbreaking enough, and had even been outdated by Ubisoft titles such as Assassin's Creed.
The rumours suggested that Conviction would go back into development and be given a fresh release date of Christmas 2009 - or even spring 2010.
Not so, said Ubsioft, telling Eurogamer the report is "pure speculation".
Splinter Cell Conviction was revealed last year at the Paris-based publisher event UbiDays. The 2008 show takes place next week.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

A letter from the devteam
Hi guys,
It's been a while since our last message but we're happy to say that development of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction is continuing well and the game is shaping up nicely. The team here is very dedicated and focused to making sure that Conviction turns into an amazing experience of Splinter Cell.
There are lots of rumours flying around right now about Conviction's development status and we can tell you that the gameplay has evolved, similar to what happens in every game's development process, and you won't be disappointed. We take your feedback from these forums very seriously and, although we can't respond to each and every thing people say, we do take these posts into consideration when making the game.
Unfortunately we're not able to make Ubidays this year but in the forthcoming months we'll be back in touch to begin showing you this new installment of the Splinter Cell series.

Splinter Cell: Conviction’s new “visual direction is simply much better”
Splinter Cell: Conviction community development manager, Chris Easton, has told Videogaming247 today that not only is work on the game well under way, but that the “visual direction is simply much better” than what we’ve seen so far.
“Splinter Cell Conviction is certainly not canned, despite what the Internet rumour mill says, and won’t look significantly different to what you’ve seen before,” he said.
“The gameplay’s evolved a lot but the visual direction is simply much better than what you’ve seen.”
Easton added: “The gameplay has evolved from what we showed at Ubidays last year and when you see it again it’ll be worth the wait.”
OXM Podcast said it will be emerging from the shadows very soon.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
