Welcome to the Halo 3 Multiplayer Public Beta

File sharing is a dedicated space, hosted on Bungie servers, but accessible right from Halo 3, and allows you to store a publicly accessible collection of content, initially Saved Films and eventually (when the game ships) other stuff. In the Beta, this feature is limited solely to Saved Films, but we’ll have lots more to announce fairly soon. You can share your movies, or check out anyone else’s, simply by highlighting their Gamertag from almost anywhere in Halo 3 and, while you’re playing Halo 3, from the guide, whether they’re online or not.

In light of the recent situation with the Spring update corrupting roster files, maybe other game developers will follow suit, much like EA did with their EA locker.

I think the films will be a neat addition.

The Halo 3 beta officially kicks off early Wednesday morning, but that won't be the only thing getting anxious fans excited. Tuesday night, Microsoft confirmed that Halo 3 would release on September 25 in North America and on the following day in Europe. Halo 3 had long been speculated as being targeted for a September release. Turns out that the Internet rumors had more merit than some might have believed.

"Halo 3 is much more than a video game release; it's the biggest entertainment event of the year," said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business. "On Sept. 25, we intend to deliver a finale that will go down in entertainment history and leave people around the world with an experience that will be shared and enjoyed for years to come."

Just got back with Crackdown courtesy of a Blockbuster four miles away.

The first three video game stores were completely rented out! I was utterly amazed. All of them had at least five copies of the game, one BB had I swear at least a dozen all rented out.
