Gents (and ladies), after loving Halo 2's online game AND now I've been playing R6 Vegas, I'm just not feelin' Halo 3. The 10' verticals, force fields, one-hit hand-to-hand kills, etc. IMO just don't compare to the SOMEWHAT realism of R6. I even missed the capability to take cover while playing the beta. The load times were pretty long as well BUT I did STILL enjoy it to some degree.

Haven't decided if I want to play tonight or not. I have a feeling these three maps are going to get old really quickly.

Yeah, I don't see myself playing this much longer than a week. Playing just 3 maps will get old pretty fast. I'll still play in OS games, but I won't do random ranked games by myself.

Never played the first 2 online...Graw and Vegas were my first online shooters. Time seems to disappear while playing this, which kinda' speaks to the intensity and frenetic pace, but it seesm a little mindless, and the grafx were definitley OK at best to me. I dunno, I don't think this will be the megaton system seller they hope it will be, but it was pretty fun.

Never played the first 2 online...Graw and Vegas were my first online shooters. I share the same sentiments. In fact I recall several moments where I thought that the experience reminded me an awful lot of Unreal online. After a week of sitting in front of the t.v. playing that mindless thing I was just like, "what are you doing with your life. This isn't even a decent game. Just running and jumping around, shooting, repeating itself over and over and over."

But yeah, an hour can go by just like that with this beta.

45K...playing, essentially, a demo.

This game will be the top selling game this year. And it won't even be close.

Oh, that's the only thing I didn't agree with McCoy's post
I'm sure, even with the somewhat botched beta launch, this thing is going to sell like nothing we've seen before.

I'm having so much fun playing this. I used the needler for the first time tonight, and it's a damn beast. Fear it!

I'm hoping Bungie drops in the sword at some point during the beta. I would like to see how it's changed. Also, maybe give us Last Resort (Zanzibar remake). Probably won't see new maps during the beta, but I hope I'm wrong.

Just like anything else, it's the caliber of people playing that make it worth while. Last night, I didn't see any on my friends list playing, so there is just no way I'm going to start experimenting with the all the kids that claim they slept with my mom.

It's fun, and can be competitive. In some ways it lacks in other ways it's great.

Yea I hear you on the kids claiming something bit...there was a kid playing the beta that claimed he had the actual game for like ten minutes or so and then he 'fessed up...I'm going to start to just not use the headset with all of the expletives,racial slurs snd LIES that I hear. I'm a grown a## man but I STILL don't want to hear that stuff.

I know this is just a beta and we are missing maps, weapons, vehicles but this feels like Halo 2.5. I thought Halo 2 was one of the best games ever made and this feels like an expansion pack. But maybe that's how a beta should feel. I am still looking forward to Halo 3 but w/the recent competition (GOW, RB6, GRAW 2) this game feels a little old. Still fun though, just expecting more (but my mind keeps telling me it's just a beta).

I just played for 5 minutes and then quit after being ran over by that flying vehicle and being shot by someone in one of those big guns. Oh well, maybe i'll buy this for single player.

Finally tried it this morning and it was fun. Seems much more balanced than Halo 2 was. Graphics didn't blow me away, but they suit the game just fine. I really want to play with some OS crew.

I cant aim at all in this game. I really dont understand how I can unload a clip into someone and they still dont go down. The default gun is worthless.

Can any of you Halo fanatics lay down some beginner tips? What about the guns, is there a site or can someone list the guns from most powerful to wimpish?

The only way I can get kills is to hide out and snipe like a sissy, thats no fun.

I have found that to be good at this game you only have to master firing a gun while jumping. Everyone jumps around like damn rabbitts.
