How did the mic work on Halo 2? I don't remember.

When you spoke only your teammates would hear it, unless someone from the other team was close, then they would be able to hear what you were saying.

Dookie, I just rented Crackdown and am downloading the Beta now. You have a pretty good chance of getting it just by renting, seems like almost all of them have the Beta.

ok i started up Halo 3 again this morning, and AGAIN i get the game over failure...

I'm going to be PISSED if I have to clear my cache and download the Crackdown update and the Beta update EVERYTIME i want to play...

Without being able to invert the right thumbstick this beta is unplayable for me. I didn't see anywhere to change this, anyone know if it's possible? I doubt it, but just wanna be sure.

you can invert the stick.


at the menu, press start

then go to settings


then go to controls

Let me start of by saying that I am a huge fan of the Halo series. In fact, all I play is Halo and sports games. That being said, I'm not really blown away buy the beta. I was expecting a little more from the 360 version of halo.

It reminded me exactly of Halo 2. Not much of an improvement if any.

Couldn't you try and clear the cache and see if it works? Or check to see if your system clock is right.

Ok, so I just got the game over message twice in a row after doing what is supposed to fix it.

Go to the System Blade
Chose Memory
Highlight your hard drive
Press Y
Then press X X LB RB X X and choos Yes on the screen that pops up asking if you want to perform maintenance.

Edit: I missed the last part of your post. Not sure what to tell you bro.

You can invert the stick. On the menu, just press the start button and then hit right. It should be under controls.

Or, you could just set your Xbox profile to invert and it will automatically set up most games with inverted sticks.

To do that:
1.) Start up 360.
2.) Go to your Gamer profile
3.) Go to Game Defaults -> Action -> Y-Axis -> Inverted




It cuts down on inane chatter, I guess. People close to you, both enemy and friend, can hear you with prox voice. Just hitting any of the d-pad directions plays a weird radio sound and you can talk to the entire team.

Oh, so that's what that was. Kinda weird. I'm chalk that up as it being a beta.

It was like that in Halo 2 too. When the host of the match quits it goes into that uploading screen. In Halo 2 it was a blue screen. It's gonna be in the regular version of Halo 3 to so don't expect it to only be in the beta.

I'll head to blockbuster when I get off. If that copy of crackdown (if any left) doesn't have the beta, I'll just take it back and saw that one doesn't work and maybe get a copy with the beta.
