That's stupid.... why would they do that? Or can close proximity people hear you when close and the whole team is the button? That's how it was in Halo 2 wasn't it?

that's an awful idea with pressing the d-pad... hopefully that's fixed before launch.

Without being able to invert the right thumbstick this beta is unplayable for me. I didn't see anywhere to change this, anyone know if it's possible? I doubt it, but just wanna be sure.

yeah and the B.S. already started. In the one round I played, the guy leading the pack was off in one of those big gunner type things just sitting back blasting people.

That's no BS, that's Halo.

Halo has always had their "press this button to talk" thing and it has always been the most annoything thing.

This time it's even worse, because you really have to go out of your way to talk.

Hey guys,

If you're seeing the "GAME OVER" message, that's what the beta client does when it cannot fetch certain necessary files from XBL. The Beta is not, in fact, over.

It's almost certainly due to the outrageously heavy load hitting the servers right now. Sorry for the hassle, this is sort of what you'd expect might happen when you throw 50,000+ users at a fresh system. It is being looked into as I post.

Hi Folks,

You'll be pleased to know that your zealous testing has brought down two of our primary file servers. Backups are being put back online right now, that should help the Game Over / Downloading Files errors.

Things are going to be a little bit up and down due to the load, but problems are being worked on. The guys here at Bungie and at XBL are still here and monitoring the situation, but these are uncharted waters. Please bear with us, these things should smooth out as we work out the bugs.
