If this is what online Halo is like (didn't play much of 'Halo 2') then I'm O-U-T for the game.

What a bunch of immature little pricks! :
if you think it's bad now, wait until the actual game is out. They'll find glitches, post them in their dumb sites, and everyone will use them. People even exploit lag and stuff somehow, it's funny. Halo online is trash compared to the fun you could have with some of your drinking buddies.

I spent a whole summer semester playing halo with some friends, but only played online for a few weeks with a free month trial I had on the first xbox.

Tested the saved films thing out with TJ. He sent me one of his videos, I sent him one of mine.

It's an awesome feature. It's going to be even better in the final version.

What did you think of my video?

                I liked your double kills.

Tip: You ran outside across the level with your shotgun out a few times. Try to switch to the AR or some other longer gun so you can do damage. Change to the shotgun when you're really close.

It's actually a nearly universal phenomenon to mutilate or disgrace the corpse of a defeated opponent. From Achilles dragging Hector to US soldiers being dragged through Mogadishu to printing death cards with pictures of Iraqi leaders on them- it's absolutely a window into war and the mindset of war.

Which is to say that 14-year-olds teabagging you after they kill you is probably the most accurate depiction of combat that Halo (or any other FPS) has to offer.

its either love it or hate it... there isnt a lot of middle ground...

personally, 16 player halo 1 first-to-3 capture the flag lan matches with all my friends from high school that would last 3+ hours is the most fun i have ever had playing a video game, and will probably never be topped.

We would set up two tvs in a one room, two in the other room, and have a halo draft (that was half the fun, because you never wanted to be mr. irrelevant in that draft because we would make fun of you). We ALWAYS played sidewinder, because it was the PERFECT map for 16 player capture the flag, and we had some abosultely EPIC battles....

I've never used more strategy in a video game than in those matches...

you HAD to work as a team in order to win

of course, that was halo 1.

halo 2 on XBL just wasnt the same as having all 15 of your friends in the same house playing together

halo 3 does have more of a halo 1 feel to it, but its still not like playing in basement with all your friends

                          Couldn't agree with you more.

Though, we played on the second floor, and not in the basement.

Everything else, though, is exactly what my Halo 1 experience was like. Being able to hear one of your best friends scream when you sniped him in the face, or hearing the constant laughter after one of those embarassing moments, to even the strategy between you and the kids around you trying to get the flags...it's, without a doubt, my favorite video game memory of all time.

It also helped that I was the best Halo player of all my friends, and wound up with almost 275 kills on one of those 3+ hour, Sidewinder CTF matches...but still, it would've been fun either way.

Same thing with me except it would end up being 4 vs. 4 CTF most of the time, but the matches usually lasted over an hour on either Sidewinder or Blood Gulch. Nothing beat seeing someone driving away with your flag in a Warthog only to hit them with a rocket shot from across the map and hear them scream from the other room.

Every single day after football practice, we'd play those same settings for hours. Until San Andreas came... that broke up the band

LOL, same thing happened to me in my dorm, except NCAA Football 98 for the PlayStation was the "Halo" of your story, and Resident Evil 2 was the "San Andreas".
