I've never been a huge fan of Halo multiplayer. To me the single player is worth the purchase. I'm not saying I won't try the multiplayer, but playing with randoms in Halo is a big no-no in my opinion.

No way I'd ever play a match against randoms in Halo, did that once and it was enough. I do enjoy playing it against friends though and find it to be my favorite multiplayer game when played in that fashion.

As for the car, I'd for sure sell it. Wouldn't drive that thing unless it got painted over.

The multiplayer looked like "Kangaroo Wars" or even worse "Grass Hopper" Wars. You just see a bunch of guys hopping up and down. Is that really what multiplayer is like.

If so, is the single player campaign worth the purchase?

I don't think the jumping around is that bad. It's really not to much of a difference than what you see in games like UT.

I think it's worth a purchase even if you don't play the online multiplayer, assuming we don't have a Halo 2 on our hands, but that doesn't look to be the case. The campaign is going to have a lot of replay value with 4 player co-op, meta-game (campaign scoring), and skulls (gameplay modifiers). Saved films functionality for campaign is going to be awesome too. If you don't the like the multiplayer, you may end up liking some of the user-created games that Bungie and the community make with Forge. Rocket Race is an example of something that was created with Forge. The idea is: There are five teams of two, where one teammate is a VIP that the other must escort to certain objective points to score. Everyone has rocket launchers and are riding around on mongooses (ATV's) and firing rockets at other teams in an attempt to prevent them from scoring. Everybody has 300% health, so they are not dying by a single rocket. You could make it where the players and mongooses are invulnerable, but you will still get flipped around when you get hit by a rocket.

I don't get why companies care so much if people play the game early. They're still getting their money so what's the big deal?

It's because most of these big companies that deal intellectual property still want to pretend they can control it in all cases.

I'm not totally sure about this. I would say some sort of honor rules will come into play, but I believe Bungie has said that Rocket Race will be an actual game mode, so maybe they will do the same to some the best content that's created by the community. We'll see.

Got a call this morning from my GameStop. Telling me they're having a midnight launch (no brainer). And that they're also adding an additional 30% towards any trade in credit towards Halo 3, or anything Halo 3 related ie; Controller, Console, etc.

Anyone else get this? I wonder if it'll work with my Edge card to where I'd get an additional 10% along with the 30% they're already giving.

I am pretty sure it will work with your EDGE card. My friend was able to use mine last week in a similar promotion.

From what I've heard, the people who have made Museum and Believe don't know anything about the game and the commercials are in no way related to the actual game's plot.

well, who knows. I mean, the motto for the game IS "Finish the fight" so to me that means that one way or the other, the Chief may not be coming back.
