Basically, boxed copies need to be registered to download them freely, which means linking them to a BNet account. That's why you wouldn't be able to play the same copy on BNet at a time - because you'd have to both share the same account. No reason you couldn't both use it at different times, though.

And digital copies are tied to a BNet account too because you have to create that account before you can purchase and download the game.

So I guess registering the game either way allows you to download as many times as you want. I just kinda assumed there would be some kind of limit but "as needed" makes it pretty clear that there isn't one.

Ok, so you can install on multiple machines, but obviously have to log in with that BN account so can only play it on one computer at a time...Am I right?

I don't see why 2 people couldn't play offline at the same time (obviously not in the same game though). You would just miss out on the bnet features associated with being connected to bnet while you're playing.

I got this at an relatively great deal.

What all do people need to play online against me on this game? I warn you that I have played one and only one game of Starcraft 1 and no Starcraft 2 yet. But I figure if I play with the better ones my skill will improve. Only problem with me is I dont like to rush and that kills me on most RTS games.

My best advice would be start out in the practice league when it gives you the option to do so. Not only are a lot of people going to be learning the game for the first time there, but the maps in that league are special versions of the normal ones. They all have the main base path blocked by a rockpile, and it must be destroyed to send ground forces into the enemy base. It deters rushes, but won't eliminate them completely (beware the Terran Reaper rush, they can jump cliffs and are capable of ending a match VERY early). But it should serve as a good introduction into Starcraft II's multiplayer.

But really, you should get familiar with the units before you go online, or else you're going to find yourself in quick, painful matches anyway.

not till they release it...mine is all preloaded and ready to go...they will start selling the game at 10 AM PDT

its 9:13 am here east coast time so i still have hours to go :/

Those who buy the retail copy can already play it. Those who choose the digital version have to wait 'till 10am PDT before they can purchase the game and activate it for play.

pretty much...its the same feeling i get when i order a game through amazon and i have to wait for it to get to my door while everyone is playing it already :/

im patient though...unfortunately i need to find something else to kill time as the madden demo was pretty boring imo...
