Here's another angle on the system requirements...
I just tried installing it on an old laptop, and it did run. Not great, probably no more than 10-15 FPS even at the beginning of a game (that would get worse as the game goes on), but it did install and play on the Low preset. The specs are:
Core 2 Duo at 2.00 Ghz
4 GB RAM (damn thing has as much as my desktop PC...LOL)
Vista
Integrated Video (probably the main reason it's slow)
Technically the game should not even be playable without an actual video card, but it does indeed run the game. For an actual playable game, the minimum card listed is the Nvidia 6 series, and those were from a REALLY long time ago.
Blizzard has always made their games accessible to low-end machines, and seeing it run on that laptop has me convinced that will never change.
If you are unsure that the game will run but want to try it out...I have one guest pass (the boxed version comes with 2, and I want to keep 1). If you're interested, PM me - it apparently allows you to download and play the game for either 7 in-game hours or 14 days, whichever runs out first. You ought to be able to get a good idea of whether it will run from that.
