Just to chime in on the controllers things, I gotta say the gamecube controller gives you tighter control when you're starting to try advanced tactics, also don't forget about the old GameCube WaveBird controller, you get the features of the gamecube controller with the added bonus of wireless. I've picked up a couple on eBay for about $25/controllerComment

I've been playing with the Wii remote-only option. It's actually pretty easy to use.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I think I've got the game down for the most part.
I have another question though, with the floating metallic/rainbow orb that you have to destroy to get your finish or final smash or whatever it's called, is there any science to if/when these orbs show up?
I played the game w. three of my boys last night for about two hours and we'd go through a few 3-minute brawls without one showing up."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I have been having a problem getting a wired controller to work on mine. No matter which port I plug the controller into, the instant I plug the controller in, my Wii stops functioning. Once I unplug the controller and re-plug in the Wii, it begins working again, but the instant I plug in my wired controller, the Wii loses power.
As for the controller I've been using, it's been the Wii/Nunchuk. Honestly, it's not nearly as bad as I'd feared and I actually quite enjoy using it.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I've been doing the Subspace Missionary mode and seriously, how long is this mode? All I have unlocked so far is Marth and it just feels like I've been playing forever. I tried to do a couple matches last night, but it was LAG City up in there. Wasn't my IP either, since I was getting 3-4 bars in Call of Duty 4 after I turned off SSB.

I've only seen lag with this game once online, we ended up getting disconnected, I then hopped right back on and didn't see anymore lag that night. Sometimes(lately it's been better than it was around the release) I've had serious issues trying to connecto to With Anyone games, but I've only seen lag once, that is the only part of the WFC I have been impressed with playing this game(aside from how much fun the game is to play online).Comment

Played like 5 matches about a week ago online. Didn't really have any problems at all. Voice chat is really a must though.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

Emissary Mode is long as heck, I won't spoil the ending but it's really one of those BS last stage challenge things once you get to the end, it's the longest thing ever, it took me about 4 days playing a few hours each day....but it's starting to get easier now, people have started putting out guides to help get you through it quicker.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
That's definitely a good idea. A buddy recently came over and used just that and it worked great.

Hmmm I never had that problem, I've been able to use two wired controllers from my GameCube days (those things never break!!!) and the WaveBirds have been working just fine, do you have the latest system update installed on your Wii?Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
Yep, I downloaded it about a week ago. It's a wired purple Gamecube controller I've been having the issues with. Ironically, the wireless GC controller works flawlessly. Best guess is that it's the controller.Comment

Re: Super Smash Brothers: Brawl(Wii)
I dunno, maybe it's because I'm a relative noob to Smash Brothers but I like the Subspace mode. Probably because I'm learning each character and their best moves as it progresses. It'll come in handy later!"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
