I like going through Classic Mode with as many different characters as I can, I think I've done around 20 by now. That really gets you used to the characters and their moves, you get 11 or 12 fights with them(although only 7 or 8 are of any use).

It also helps that I find that mode much more fun than Subspace.

I don't even know what classic mode is, hehe. How is it different from the Subspace one?

Classic is Street Fighter-ish. You pick a fighter and go board to board fighting other characters. At the end, you fight this cheezy Master Hand and if you defeat him you get a trophy of the character you went through Classic Mode with. I play Classic Mode the most as well.

Starting to open up more characters now in Subspace. Just got Snake.....gotta say not a big fan. Too slow.

First thing I thought... now I'm just as good with Snake as I am with Luigi.

Yeah 1vs1 he's kinda slow, but he's an absolute pain when you are playing online team battles, his grenades are small and are hard to see during a match

Two of my new favorites are the up and down smashes. Down is a pressure-sensitive mine, and up is a mortar. The mine is super effective if you pick a time in which people aren't watching what you're doing (if they are they can avoid it/blow it up with something like Din's fire) and the mortar is great when someone's trying to get back on the map. Plus, the strong attacks for the sides are great. The second hit is pretty much like a smash.

And he's super fast when he's running, and his running attack is pretty powerful.

Yeah anytime somebody picks Snake I make it a priority to get them, in addition I don't know how many times my teammate has killed me with a grenade that they just toss in the pack (with me in it!!!!..lol). His flying kick is crazy, I usually have to resort to DK when somebody is decent and using Snake.

How often do you guys use the grab-and-throw technique? I just figured out how to do this and it's cool but is it all that effective?

The latest guy I'm digging the most is Ike. I usually hate the sword guys but his style fits me well for some reason.

                        super bump.

I recently got the Wii as well as SSBB. I played it sparingly as I have mostly been playing Mario Kart and a few other games on my 360. Then I played some SSBB online today and I'm hooked.

Does anybody still play this? I'd love to get some OS brawls going if possible. I mainly play as Kirby because he's the guy I suck the least with.

I'd play constantly if the online options weren't so lousy and the ability to friend people wasn't so many steps.

Nintendo needs to come up with a decent friend system. It woudln't even be that bad if you could use your Mii friends to find those people playing games, but having a different code for every game is ridiculous.
