Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
Finished
SpoilerI don't remember a game giving me the feeling I had playing this. When I was trapped in the basement at Dr. Death's house, I literally felt like I was fighting for my life. Such a cool experience.
Also, BTW, the kid actor was terrible. Could you imagine how much better this game would have been had the voice acting been phenomenal like GTA IV or ME2?? (I thought it was merely good, some better than others).NCAA: Pitt, Arkansas State
MLB: Pirates
NFL: Steelers
NBA: Lakers
NHL: PenguinsComment

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
SpoilerThe voice acting for the two brothers was especially bad. They sounded like some kinds from France speaking English. And I think the Tripto was actually to help Jayden to keep the final side effects from appearing. Someone else mentioned that he only started with the withdrawal symptoms after he got out ARI.
Also, I wonder what the ending where you beat Shelby, but get Jayden killed and the jerk cop(forget his name) puts on the ARI glasses and sees Jayden in the virtual world is all about. And then they had a sequel hook in the Heroine ending where some mysterious man comes up and says Madison needs a "more ferocious adversary" than the Origami Killer.
And asuhelms, I know what you mean. I literally felt betrayed when they revealed Shelby was the killer. I was like, "That bastard tricked me! Had me helping all those people just to cover his own ***!" and then I said, wait, no he didn't, it's still just a game.Comment

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
my wife has zero interest in video games but she was watching me play last night. After about an hour of her watching she was trying to tell me what decisons to make. Think she watched for the last 2 hours of the game.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Heavy Rain (PS3)
I finished the game at 1:30AM last night. Whew!! Afterward I felt like I needed a cigarette! My thoughts:
Spoilerthink I had the worse possible ending. Everyone died. I was ok with the addict FBI agent getting done in by the black dude (my reaction skills were so terrible in that fight)...I was even ok when Ethan got cornered by the cops and ended up in the poky (he eventually hung himself)...and heck I figured from the moment the kid was kidnapped he was done for anyways so him drowning had no impact on me...but dangit when Madison got burnt up like Krispy Kreme in the killers apartment...my feelings were hurt(again my reaction skills were just horrid in navigating out of that fire.) I was just sad. Put a damper on my evening I tell you.
The story was good. Really good. The second half of this game was real entertainment and I was actually surprised by the ending. I just didn't see it coming that that fat slob was the guy all along. I really thought it was Madison.
The attention to detail in this game was outstanding. The little mannerisms and facial expressions with each of the characters was just top notch. The voice acting was the only thing holding this game back. Lauren(the hooker) was the worst - by far.
The 3d Holographic glasses were AWESOME. Just a smart game-play element that made looking for clues and reviewing the case fun.
It's really still bothering me I couldn't save Madison. Gonna replay it tonight from that point of the game and get her out of the freaking fire. Quite frankly I am not used to any game where the character I am playing can actually die. That just tripped me out. Speaking of which - breaking the game into chapters that you can go directly to at any point afterward is just awesome. I wish ALL games would do this.
That was the first "adult" game I have played. It had adult themes, adult actions and adult consequences. For that alone it was worth a purchase.
This game had alot of "wow" moments for me...but the one that truly got my attention was when Ethan shot the drug dealer. When he showed him pics of his kids..I just knew Ethan would chicken out...but BLAM he did it with no hesitation. Holy Crap.
And the kid who died initially. What the heck was wrong with that kid? Was he autistic? Why else would a kid just wander aimlessly through a mall and cross the street? And then that idiot kid turns around when his dad calls (like he forgot he had parents or something)...and then proceeds to walk back across a street filled with cars while not even LOOKING at these 2 TON machines whizzing by him. Chile Please - that kid deserved to bite it in my opinion.Last edited by Glenn33; 02-28-2010, 07:09 PM.Comment
