The last level was just like the last level in Halo 1, except easier. I welcome the no timer though as it was a pain beating the flood, driving the car, and beating the time limit in the first game on Legendary.

And the ending I liked. MC is bad ***, always calm and down to business.

yeah, the warthog sucks in this game, it's slower, and easier to flip over. It was nice finding the mongoose in the final level. I hated taking the jumps in the warthog only to fall through the holes falling off the platform.

That's why the ending kind of disappointed me. It was 100% rehased. From the recycled levels, the flood, and the high speed escape in the final level. I don't know if they wanted to make it a tribute to the first or go full circle or whatever, but it just seemed like a copout to rehash the same type of ending used in the first.

Alternate Ending after you beat Legendary after credits. All you have to do is start up the last lvl at the checkpoint on legendary and beat it to see the ending. I also have found a glitch in a multiplayer map and on the last lvl of campaign.

Found a way to keep sgt. johnson alive. And he can turn into the flood...lol.

you take the first left when your still on the snow path right after you get in the warthog. It's before you even get on the exploding platform.

It's so much more fun this way, as the mongoose is more nimble and quick.

what's funny about using it is that not only can't you make the final jump with it, and it goes to the cutscene anyways, but it still shows you in the warthog.

                      Re: Halo 3 Impressions

We have a group that gets on about 7 on Wednesdays so if anyone wants to join.

This may have been asked but didn't want to read the whole thread.

Is there no way to do matchmaking on custom games?

There are about 4 - 6 friends that usually play Halo 3 multi. We were getting tired of the same game types so we created a custom game and played infected. We had a blast.
I don't see a method though to matchmake them. I guess the only way to get people is invite those you have played before.

If you are getting bored try the custom types they are a lot of fun.

Past Sunday we tried the forge and man that was a blast. Turning into a camera and sneaking behind a guy then spawning a hammer and toasting him..

Interesting. Maybe someone messed up by placing it there.

                              Bungie Weekly Update

                              Banhammery

We’ve mentioned before that we have implemented lots of security and anti-cheating systems in Halo 3. We’ll never have it perfect because we cannot stop people being idiots, but it’s already significantly better than ever before. We’re about to activate a part of it that required a few weeks of folks playing in the wild before we’d gathered enough data to activate it. Well, we’re just about ready to swing the mighty mallet of justice and it should make a couple of types of cheating extinct very shortly.

Halo 3 has been available for precisely one month and we’re going to be working harder than ever to make sure it stays a safe and fair place to play for the next few years. So please bear with us and remember we’re always watching and more importantly, acting on the information we receive, whether it’s immediately visible or not.
                              Map Flap

Our multiplayer design teams are hard at work on a couple of things. One of them is a fun, seasonal addition to the matchmaking playlist which should keep you entertained for about 27 hours around Halloween. No specifics yet, but suffice it to say that if you want to spend your witchy holiday playing Halo 3, we’ll give you some spooktacular reasons to do so.

The other thing keeping the designers busy, and the artists and audio guys for that matter, is downloadable content. The maps themselves are being prepared in a logical order, designed to fill gaps in our matchmaking selection and add new, interesting environments to our multiplayer arsenal. The more finished the maps are, the faster they’re likely to make it to marketplace. We’ll have more news on the specific plans for timing and availability soon, and we promise to let you guys get a look at the maps and hear more about what they have to offer.

We’ve been testing the new maps pretty regularly and I loved all except one, which for the purposes of this article, I shall refer to as, “Purple Reign.” I sometimes have an initially adverse reaction to symmetrical or semi-symmetrical map designs because I am not terribly smart and I sometimes have difficulty become oriented within those types of space. Invariably, I get used to it and learn to love them. This was just such a case, but when a new slew of architecture was added in the distance recently, it was enough for me to recognize which way was “up,” so to speak. Now I love it.

So the good news is that as far as I am concerned, all of the projected DLC maps are sweet. Two of them in particular will cause a Three Mile Island scale pant-fill-disaster in the Halo community. I can’t say why, but some of you will figure it out correctly and be able to say I told you so later.

Luke and I have been playing a lot of SWAT on the new maps because it’s an easy way to check out a map with only a couple of players. At least two of the projected DLC maps however, are simply far too large for even the hair-trigger nature of SWAT to speed ‘em up. Both of them support lots of vehicles, but one of them, John Carpenter’s Prince of Dorkness, doesn’t need vehicles per se. It’s tough to explain. When you finally see it, you’ll understand.

                                Playlist of the Living Dead

To celebrate the gustatory tendencies of the walking dead and to acknowledge All Hallows Eve, we’re launching a spooktacular, eerie-otic and cryptmongous playlist for 27 horror-filled hours, starting on October 31st at 12:01am and ending at 3:00am on November 1st because we love Hawaii Halloween too (Chicken skin kine). It is infection and it is the playlist of the Living Dead.
Q: There’s more than one version of Infection in this playlist, what is each version and how does it work?

We’re using two main versions: Save One Bullet, which is close to classical Infection but with limited ammunition which keeps the Humans from holding off the Zombies forever, and Creeping Death, where the Zombies are a bit slower but shockingly invisible and deadly. Creeping Rockets is a third variant where the Humans are more heavily armed, but the Zombies are tougher too.

Q: Do the maps in Living Dead have the same set-ups that I am used to?

The Living Dead playlist will be the first to use Forge variants in Matchmaking. Lars [Bakken] and Dan [Miller] pulled out all the stops and Forged some masterful variants featuring fortified positions and anti-Zombie booby traps to help get people into the Zombie mind (which is to say, wanting to get into a Human’s mind. Directly.)

Q: Man, I love these gametypes is there any way I can get them?

Any time you play one of these variants in Matchmaking, they’re saved in your Recent Games queue (in the Custom Games lobby, go to select the game type—the Recent Games list is at the top.) They may also show up in the Bungie Favorites this week.

Q: Will there be more special hoppers in the future?

                                You bet.
