Yes, you have to start from the beginning.

Yep, and also I was wrong. You don't have to finish the mission after you pick it up as mine are saving after I quit.

Wasn't too bad... took about two hours or so and got all the skulls. Finally got the "Super Shredder" armor.

Finally made level 20 and promoted to Captain. Actually saw my 1st General's in Big Team Battle. Unbelievable that people can have 1000+ experience and 50 skill.

My only question is how are people ranked around me (17-23) but have highest skill level reached 35 or higher? Now they are Commanders/Major's/etc. They sure as heck don't play like it though. Did they piggyback off somebody else to get that high?

Another thing I saw was that I played somebody that a 6 skill. Guy had 25+ kills and less than 5 deaths. My only guess was that he started over someone or used a new screen name. Guy was a beast.
              - The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

sometimes their highest skill is from a different matchmaking type like team doubles. someone can be a 35 in team doubles but only a 15 in team slayer because they havent played team slayer as much

                        Re: Halo 3 Impressions

Sounds like concrete info on DLC is coming Monday.

                        Bungie Weekly Update

Five offensive lineman (Adam Snyder, Tony Wragge, David Bass, Joe Staley and Kwame Harris) for the San Francisco 49ers came by the studio for pizza and cold refreshment, fellowship and most importantly, playing new Halo 3 maps.
The mode that was far and away the biggest hit on Jodrell Bank was Multi Flag CTF, Cotton and I were talking about Multi Flag on Jodrell Bank after the event and it, more than Multi Flag and Valhalla or even Multi Flag on Coagulation in Halo 2 reminded both of us of Multi Flag CTF on Blood Gulch (my preferred CTF Blood Gulch was Warthogs only, Flag at Home to Score CTF Classic). Does that mean Jodrell Bank is a remake of Blood Gulch or Coag? Absolutely not, in fact it isn’t anything like it aesthetically, but in terms of the engagement distances, it feels like Blood Gulch.
We had a meeting this week about changes coming to the Matchmaking playlists. Even though the most recent group of changes just went live, Tyson and Test are already at work managing the spec for the next updates as well -- the first isdue around the time that DLC is set to arrive withan expanded update the following week. Without showing too much of the hand for the Double Stuff of Playlist changes, there will be considerable adjustments coming to the Matchmaking hoppers – including one particular change that hyper-competitive jerks like me will enjoy.

Team Hardcore is a playlist that members of the community crave like a pregnant woman craves pickles and peanut butter. And sooner than later, it will be making its way back to Halo 3. Exactly what "Team Hardcore" means, we're still sorting out, but it will likely resemble the Team Hardcore that folks became pretty familiar with in Halo 2 with some tweaks made for the Halo 3 environment. There's a handy thread where we're checking out your thoughts on what makes something Hardcore, here.

In addition to being excited for Hardcore, the other changes coming to the Playlists in that DLC timeframe have me pretty stoked to continue my desperate quest for Level 45. But per Tyson's request -- mum is the word and tight are the lips, for now.
But, on Monday (November 19) folks are definitely going to want to check back in here at Bungie.net and keep faces pressed to their monitors like children breathing on school bus windows in November, because there will be news. Oh yes, there will be news.

I like the stats Bungie collected. This is from all 360's on XBL and have played Halo 3.

                          • At 6.21%, Steppin’ Razor is the hardest multiplayer Achievement to earn, with Two for One right behind it at 6.77% and Overkill nipping at its heels (6.75%)

I've often wondered about percentages for things like this. Good stuff from Bungie.

Of course I will still be getting them, but $10 for 3 maps?

                                Nice Microsoft.

3 maps coming December 11 for 800 points.

Standoff’s symmetrical valley, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types, while Rat’s Nest’s vast, labyrinthine passages bring something new to the “Halo” multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise, strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, ideal for big team battles. Finally, Foundry is the ultimate Forge map – players can edit every single object in this voluminous industrial warehouse, place stairways, walls, bridges and tunnels to create an entirely new play space and build almost any kind of map they can think of.
