The game looks good, but I wouldn't say it looks better than Gears of War. The environments do look a little more realistic, especially when you compare it to Halo 2.

Congrats on getting the game early Sully. How is the single player thus far?

Challenging. I like to think I'm decent at shooters, though I haven't played much Halo in the past, but I'm getting my *** handed to me on Normal.

Wow on Normal?

Everything I have read said playing on that level was way to easy. The TeamXbox review mentioned this, but of course like you said, you haven't played much Halo in the past.

Heroic should be a good challenge then, if you're playing by yourself. I'm saving Legendary for co-op though.

Well... I got the game home yesterday at around 4 pm... didn't beat the first chapter till about 5:30 (playing on Heroic).. stopped playin... co oped a little bit with HungryBalogna from the 1st to the 3rd chapter... took a little bit... then i played from midnight till about 2:30 am (yeah i know) and that's when i reached where I am now (Chapter IV)... there will be times (on heroic at least) where you'll have next to nothing for ammunition and have plan how you're going to get past a certain part with LOTS of enemies... including who to kill... where to swap weapons quickly.. where to cover... those who get it on tuesday will know what I mean... and if you play on Heroic.. you WILL die... A LOT.

I don't know, I don't consider myself a Halo pro, but it's taking me a long time to get past the first level on Heroic. I think it's a lot harder than Halo 1, seems about the same as or little harder than Halo 2. I'm dying with much more frequency than the previous two. But maybe the next levels are easier or there aren't that many levels?

All I know is it's not that the AI is too easy.

It took me about 2 hours to beat the first level on Heroic. Game is not easy.

Are you guys dying a lot because of Covenant snipers?

That frustrated me in Halo 2, because a lot times I couldn't see where they were or I thought I killed them only to all the sudden get sniped a few seconds later.

YEAH. Those bastards are hard to kill. They are actually really annoying because they are so far away. Then you add the improved Grunt AI and it's just a real struggle if you aren't playing methodical.

Yes... i didn't want to say anything as to not have any spoilers and such but yes... they are so precise it's not even funny... if you jump in the air or fall from a high place where a sniper can see you from a distance... say good night... you'll see a good 2 to 3 green slashes go thru you and you're FINISHED... but WOW @ how this game is shaping up... this definately feels next gen

Yeah, me and ThaGenecyst played for a good couple hours last night on Heroic and we got to about the 3rd level. There were times where we died about 5 or 6 times in a row because of snipers. When they started to do that I sat back and used the battle rifle to take out the snipers.

What's hot is... every multiplayer match you play or campaign level you go thru, it seems to automatically be recorded.. so u can go back and watch.. invite other people to watch it with you, etc... i haven't been reading up on H3 news so i don't know if that was highlighted but I think that's hot.

Playing on Heroic, this will happen to you... A LOT.
