Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Just picked this bad boy up at Target.
Man, there was this kid in front of me who must have been about 11 years old. He brought his Mom over to the game and she bought it for him. I was pretty shocked. I guess she is just clueless.Comment

See, this is why when parents groups go up in arms about mature video games I just laugh it off and shake my head. 90% of these people buy the games without even thinking.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I LOVE THIS GAME!
Just finished my first traffic desk case:
SpoilerI'm not too bad at reading people though I should've grilled Frank Morgan more. I guess I should've went with the "doubt" option rather than say he was out and out lying even though it was plain as day that the guy was lying through his teeth.
I also love the curve ball that case served up as I was CERTAIN Mrs. Black probably hired some goon to off her husband rather than the crazy scheme that Adrian himself cooked up with Morgan.
As for reading people, and I know it's really early so it's going to get harder but I was at about a 80% clip. I'll definitely have to replay cases if I want a perfect score that way.SpoilerRemember, you can hit circle (don't know what it is on the 360) to back out of an accusation. I accused him of lying at first too. Then realized I didn't have anything to prove it with. Went back to "Doubt" and got the info I needed.
EDIT: BTW, I loved how you prefaced your spoiler by what investigation you were on. I'm not going to click on any others if I don't know if I've passed that case or not.Last edited by Mabster; 05-17-2011, 04:28 PM.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I know man. It is just ridiculous. Some parents seem to think that these are still like games from the early 80's.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Seems like the story mode is nothing less than wows and awesomeness but, what about the gameplay? Does it feel like GTA or a completely different game?
Are there a lot of side missions and things to do like Red Dead Redemption or do you have to stick to the main story most of the time?
I'll probably be getting the game this week or in the weeks to come. My 360 has been collecting dust for the last 4-5 months but, this game has peaked my interest. I'll probably wind up trading it in for Mortal Kombat or something once I'm done with the story mode. Also no hookers suck lol. There weren't any mack daddy pimps in the 40's or whenever this era takes place?
Also not being able to kill people and beat them whenever you want makes sense but, surely you can at least drive up on the side walk and do some damage. Good times.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
The game plays much like GTA and Red Dead Redemption I guess you could say. You're in an open world and there are side missions to do if you want. So far the cases seem like they are all separate from each other. I hope there is a case that kind of interweaves throughout the game that you finally solve at the end.Seems like the story mode is nothing less than wows and awesomeness but, what about the gameplay? Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Agreed - that's a terrific way of doing spoilers. As for that case (case 5)...SpoilerRemember, you can hit circle (don't know what it is on the 360) to back out of an accusation. I accused him of lying at first too. Then realized I didn't have anything to prove it with. Went back to "Doubt" and got the info I needed.

Spoiler
I put it together after the fact (the bloody car, that is) because I really messed up on the wife. Thought for sure when I saw the pipe missing that either she or someone she hired did it. I ended up having to tail Frank back to his apartment and imagine my surprise when the supposed victim was there!
I decided not to use intuition points throughout my first playthrough - otherwise I could have done much better on that case. I think it'll be a better experience though since I know I can't get stuck - just going to see where the game takes me when I guess wrong (which will be often
)
