Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Hopefully the DLC will eventually come out on disc like previous R* releases in case I can't go and download it.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
hints and clues off is the only way to play!
Second impressions.....
After the initial underwhelming feeling went down on day one I popped it in again and started to appreciate the game for what its worth. A nice story driven adventure game with splashes of action.
Cant lie, the story is wonderful. And each case feels like a episode of Dragnet thats for sure. Turning off chimes and aids will increase the tension at a crime scene as well and make you feel more like a detective. So thats a definite plus.
One thing I have to commend R* on is the city and its level of detail. Just looking at some of the landmarks enteriors is something that needs to be appreciated. At first I wasn't feeling the lack of sandbox gaming in LA Noire but the enviorment does a good job at immersion and making you feel like you're in 40s LA.
Despite the games lack of depth, the cases themselves are worth the experience. These cases are disturing and full of intrigue and mystery with excellent detail paid attention to each of the enviorments you visit. The action sequence on each cases finale have all been fun so far.
Only thing that still bothers me is the driving in this game. If the cars had a more distinct difference from one another, it would make the game that much better cause the hunt for the greatest car would be on. On another note, the damage models for the cars make up for it. Watch a car run into something at a high speed and watch the parts fly. The physics are nice.
Anyway, after some more time I've come to appreciate is for what it is instead of what I wanted it to be. I expected more but I've come to grips at what the game set out to be. And thats to experience what it would be like to be a 40s detective in a GTA inspired world. The city is huge enough and full of little nooks and cranies worth exploring.
So there you have it. I was once blind and now I see.
glad your enjoying it for what it is.
no problems here. i have a slim anyway.Anyone running into these types of problems with the game?
Which then lead me to this...

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Homicide Desk Spoilers (seriously, don't read until you've beaten all those cases):
SpoilerInteresting take on why the Dahlia case went unsolved, even though this is, of course, complete fiction. I don't remember the details (and don't really want to go through the chase case again), but it had to do with the killer being related to someone in high places and the PD covered it up?
It was pretty obvious that there was an overarching plot when the jewelry constantly turned up missing - especially the rings. Regardless, I still wanted to see a few of those guys go down even if I knew there was something deeper. Most of all, the disfigured Hobo and that smug bastard McCaffrey - it felt great catching them in their lies in the interview room.
Honestly, I'm 2 cases into Vice and I still liked the entire Homicide desk more.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
thanks fellas.SpoilerYou must've missed some of the papers. Kelso has PTSD from the war and went to the doctor to see if it could be cured. The doctor agreed they'd work together and it's showing this side story. I assume it ties in at some point but I'm only a little ahead of you so don't nkow for sure.
If you'd like to solve all the street crimes...(spoiler for one of the first cases and a street crime)
Spoilerin the first real case let that guy go when you get the option because he comes back in a street crime later.
OAN: i feel slighted. TheShizNO1 has thanked everyone in here but me. where is my...............

Does anyone know how much GameStop credit you get for this game.
I heard someone mention just $8 which I find incredibly horrible.Comment
