Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Not necessarily, there are set cases. I feel like discussion on this game is pretty easy to just say "Do not read until you past (insert case name)." Just a little courtesy, or else you can't really have discussion with all parties involved, can you?
Also, Just finished the game:
SpoilerThe ending makes me sad, but I had figured out who the arsonist was by the second to last flashback. Before that, I knew it was one of them as there was no way any normal civilian would make an oragami crane.Last edited by TracerBullet; 05-22-2011, 04:54 PM.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
I'll spoiler this just in case, talks about everything
SpoilerI wish there was more of a set concrete storyline. Sure there was the army/Elsa storyline all the way to the end, but it seemed like the cases for the most part had nothing to do with that. I also would definitely like more cases. I would pay another $60 for it to have another whole story, maybe surround it around Jack Kelso or something.Eagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

What happens after you get a reel? I got the one that was part of the story showing them talking at the table.I've gotten all of the Film Reels, all landmarks, all street crime cases done. Here are my stats, if anyone cares.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
*Insert spoiler setup here*
SpoilerI know the exact videos you are referring to. The flashbacks suggests he is selfish yes. The papers show a setup sure. But the affair stuff came out of nowhere. When it happened I was confused. Then upset at how blatant a cop out it was for the story to progress. They never depicted cole's family dynamic nor his Elsa dynamic so it was BS. Alot of people are upset and confused that that storyline was so vapid.SpoilerOh but they did indicate the affair/Elsa stuff. In between some cases it showed him going to the club, eventually in such a manner to depict he was a regular there. Obviously going to see her. They did mention his wife but no they didn't show her until she was kicking him out.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
My theory on the end of the Homicide desk (which I have just completed, so don't read this unless you're done with the homicide desk.):Well i'm now a Vice cop. I'm getting the feeling that the cases are going to get even longer and more involved now.
SpoilerThe BD killer conclusion was a bit of a cop out to me. So it ended up being that temp bartender from long ago? C'mon! There was no way anyone could even think of him as being the killer. I guess that happens in real life too. Is there a way to bring him in alive? I shot him dead. It's pretty crazy that he ended up being the brother of some big shot politician. I guess i'm heading into the home stretch and the Morphine/City corruption stuff is going to get covered in these last two desks.
SpoilerFrom the very first case I thought it had to be the temporary bartender. I wondered why Cole never asked for his name or number from any of the bars; I thought he was the prime suspect from the first case. I will say as it went on, I suspected one of the guys that worked the case; perhaps the coroner. Anyways, it wasn't the greatest ending to a desk, but the difficulty in getting there reminded me of older games (which is a good thing).Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Spoilers from after Manifest Destiny caseSpoilerOh but they did indicate the affair/Elsa stuff. In between some cases it showed him going to the club, eventually in such a manner to depict he was a regular there. Obviously going to see her. They did mention his wife but no they didn't show her until she was kicking him out.
SpoilerSo because he goes to the club he is obviously nailing a singer at the club? Crazy talk. It never showed them talking or interacting at all, not even an acknowledgement of him entering. Then during the case you talk to her, without any sort of inkling that you and her are even acquainted, and then you tail her and sneak up to her room, sheepishly knock, she opens the door and you go in like it's nothing. It makes no sense.
As for the war flashbacks, if anything it shows Cole as an absolute, by the book guy. It shows a guy unwilling to bend any regulation no matter if it saves lives or fits the realities of the battlefield. A guy like that, unwilling to bend the rules to speed up his unit's progress, unwilling to bend rules to save lives, is going to break his vows, break the law and put his career in jeopardy on a whim like that? We aren't even given any sort of circumstance to justify his change of character.
I also don't like that the game seems to have cut us off from large chunks of Cole's life. We are supposed to be Cole in this game, but yet we are absent for his life outside of each case? It feels like a cheap way to fabricate a surprise twist.

As for the discussion on taking down fleeing cars, I was disappointed that we couldn't do a PIT maneuver as well. It seems the only real way to take down a car is to get your partner to shoot both tires.
During one case I was chasing a guy so I drove up beside him, my partner shoots out his tires and the suspect begins to lose control so I hit the brakes and turn to slide to a stop and the other car proceeds to flip and land on top of my car. I got out and had to wait for the car to slowly slide off of my car before the suspect would get out and I could take him down.Comment
