Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
Holy crap, regarding the plot...not spoiling anything, but wow, just wow. This is awesome.
*edit to add a bit more from later*
Damn, the sniping stuff is cool, but escaping seems damn tough. Gotta let it go for tonight, but it's been fun!Last edited by mgoblue; 12-06-2007, 02:30 AM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
The sniping level was probably my favorite level. Wasn't difficult but it was just really cool.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
That level was one of my favorite levels of all time. I liked the first part better than the actual "sniping" part, but the whole thing was amazing. And then the standoff at the ferris wheel? Great, great levelPS4: aBayBates

I liked how it went down to the sniping part they made everything realistic with the wind and everything.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
One minor annoyance is just how linear everything is. There was one where I had to check out buildings for something and I had to go in a very specific order or else it wasn't possible. It's not really that bad, but I guess I'd like more open gameplay with choices...kinda like Rainbow Six where you can clear a room many different ways.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Anyone know of any planned updates allowing multi-player split screen or co-op campaign?? Those are the only two things I REALLY want in this game.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
I am totally addicted to this game (I haven't played BF2 since this came out), only a couple of things to complain about with regards to online gameplay.
1) not being able to create kits during a game, the 45 second countdown on the score screen isn't enough time imho, and making it any longer would be painful to sit through when you don't want to edit your kits. Plus you don't know what map is coming up next until after the scoreboard drops but many times the map dictates what you want to use.
2) your character stats are saved on your local machine and NOT on a server. So if you re-install you lose your level and start from lvl 1 again. Also I've had clan mates who lost their progress after simply patching.
I hit lvl 55 after about 2 and a half weeks (online) and I like that it wasn't a big drawnout ordeal.
Great single player as has been mentioned, and honestly I have to give HUGE props to their controls layout for the PC product. Whomever it was that decided to put in separate controls like crouch AND crouch toggle, prone AND prone toggle, iron sights AND iron sights toggle, along with the ability to bind a single key to SPRINT/STEADY WEAPON, you are a genius and as a customer I COMPLETELY appreciated the flexibility of the control setup in this game. I only hope other products follow your lead!Online Section Lead

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
I finally got the new squad record on the FNG. I watched a couple vids on Youtube and that helped me a lot.
I'm going back through on Veteran - went through on Hardened the first time. I'm at the TV station at the big-open TV room.
Are there any talks of any kind of additional maps being made available?

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
Something unintentionally funny happened to me while playing the single player story mode. I had just gotten done with one of the missions and was headed to the extraction zone along with the others and I'm just standing there waiting for the helicopter. Next thing I know, the camera tilts to the side and it turns black and white and I'm like "WTF?".
Turns out, the helicopter landed right on top of me, I had to do the part over again from the last checkpoint, but I couldn't stop laughing.
Edit: Adding another part:
SpoilerSame level, but earlier when we were escorting the tank (the second time you roll with Sgt. Jackson), I was shooting up a few enemies out in the open (why, I don't know) and all of sudden I'm taking hits from behind. I turned around to find out that the tank "war pig" almost ran me over and it was behind me.Last edited by BatsareBugs; 12-08-2007, 01:18 AM.Comment
