Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
I just beat the game this morning. WOW. The last stage/stand is amazing. Intense. One of the best last stages ever made. Once the credits started to roll I felt like getting up and walking out of the theater like I just finished watching a great action movie except I starred in it.
Now time to go online.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
Yeah, I seriously doubt I'll start all over again. I'm hoping they raise the level cap once they create more content for the game. If they do, what happens to those that started over in Prestige Mode?
I think I'm up to 46 or 47 right now. Ohio hit 55 last night before logging off.Comment

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
Holy Cow this game is amazing. This is my first time playing any game in the COD series, so it is all a bit new to me, but I am a vet to FPS so it hasn't been too tough getting into the hang of things. I've never been in the armed services before, but this game seems like about as "sim" as it can get in terms of a war simulator. You really have to be on your toes at all times as one false step or being out in the open on your own can quickly lead to your demise.
The single player mode is very fun and challenging. I was playing on hardened and am having hell just getting through the TV station mission where you search for Al-Asad. I think I may have to bump it down to normal difficulty, but that is a good thing because it means the game will have some replayability once I do beat it because of the harder difficulty levels.
The online portion is great too, I can really see how the leveling up system will be very rewarding and this game has that classic "one more game" feel that all great games have. One thing though, is that I wish they had a few more weapons from each class and a bit more variety, but I'm sure with the upgrades and different attachments that are available, this won't be such a big issue.
This is truly an excellent game. Makes me kinda pissed that Ive missed out on past COD's though.
Couple of questions though:
1) Is it just me, or is it a b**** to differentiate between your team and the opponent? I can't tell you how many times I've been killed just because I didn't know the guy with his back turned to me was my enemy.
2)How do you lie down and crawl, as well as shoot with the gun over your head? I've seen people do both of these in multiplayer alot, and I don't know how. The only thing I'm able to do is duck. I'm also having trouble getting through crawlspaces, but I guess that all goes hand in hand.Last edited by the_future420; 11-19-2007, 03:23 PM.Comment

1: It'll come with time, usually your marines, or your on the 'other' team. The uniforms are quiet diffrent. The enemy's name does not show up, only they only show up if your aim is over them. Your teammated name show up when they are in sight.
2: You cannot shoot over your head. If you hit B and hold B you will go prone. And once you do that u can hide under things, and go threw that hole on that one level at the trainyard.PSN: The_TechNinja

Re: Call of Duty 4 - Impressions
Not on campaign/online. I asked that question as well. Only reason I haven't picked this one up. I'm going with Mass Effect/College Hoops 2k8 instead.- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment

As unfortunate as it is that they didn't include it, I don't think its a reason not to get this game. Its just awesome.Comment

HQ is probably my favorite mode so far. I was just playing on Bog and it was so hectic trying to get the one HQ inside those containers. Grenade fest for like 5 minutes straight.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Also, remember that except for hardcore, there is no friendly fire kills in this game. If you see it, just shoot. Let god sort out the rest!!follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment
