I'm about halfway through the game, and so far COD4 is nothing but a sub-par shooter. For a game released during the 2007 Holiday season, how can you not have a cover system? The graphics are nothing special.

I am impressed with the teammate AI and the story is good.

The Death From Above level was original. I've never seen a level like that in a game before.

I don't play many non-sports games, but this one is good. The graphics look pretty good on my SDTV at home, so when I get back to school and play it on my HDTV I can't even imagine how it will look.

I don't know what you mean by cover system, but there is definitely lots of cover if you choose to use it.

I'm not going to throw out your opinion as others have, but let me just say you are in the small minority, and that's coming from someone who used to hate FPS games.

For the person asking what special graphics are, I would consider the graphics in GoW and AC as special. I feel like even R6V has better graphics than COD4.

After playing R6V and GoW, I have a hard time getting into shooters without a cover system. I've never been a fan of run and gun shooters, and without a cover system, I feel like COD4 leans more towards the side of Halo than R6V/GRAW/GoW.

Just because all the reviewers say COD4 is an outstanding game doesn't mean I have to feel the same way.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying COD4 is a terrible game. The audio, presentation, teammate AI, and story are +'s in my eyes.

In the mission i'm in now...they keep yelling "Jackson, plant the IR beacon, those machine guns are tearing us apart!!"........can someone tell me how I go about doing that??

Just beat "The Hunted" level and blowing that SOB in that chopper up was rewarding as hell.

I am having problems with this game...

Maybe I am an idiot...actually, that is likely the problem...but I can't seem to play split-screen multiplayer over XBL.

Any reason why? It said COD4 doesn't allow guests, so we both signed into our accounts, but it only lists one of us per party.

You can't play split screen online, which is like most of the shooters on XBL. The only shooter that I've played that's allowed split screen online is Halo.

You can play up to 4 as well online with the GRAW series.

Beat that One Shot, One Kill level last night on Veteran. Damn that standoff while waiting for the helicopter was tough and intense.

I rented this game for my long weekend and think it's a blast. I jumped on line however, and got totally owned. Maybe I'm stupid, but I can't even tell who my team mates are on the team death match mode. A bunch of times when I thought I was safe by a team mate he would shoot me dead. And if I stop to check the stat board to see if the guys a friend or foe it's way too late. I'm probably missing something really simple....maybe something the manual covers which I don't get with a rental.

You will only see rankings above teammates heads. If you don't see anything, shoot them! LOL
