I love 2k til the end, but if something does happen, I wouldn't mind seeing MVP baseball back, that I would love...

I wouldn't mind that either.

I would however hate losing NBA and CHoops, and I would really hate that. EA basketball games are awful.

2K sports go out of business, i will no longer buy any sports game. Ill be playing the latest 2K sport games for the rest of my life.

No. I never got around to playing that one but I heard it was good. I have been craving a good baseball game since All-Star baseball on the Nintendo 64.

they didn't sell it, just let it expire. Their Bond games usually sucked anyways, but Everything or Nothing is the best bond game ever. The thing that shows EA's bankroll is that they had supposed slumping sales this year, yet still dropped 700+ million for bioware.

EA will be on top for awhile, while their competitors like 2k are rumors of buyouts.

2K Sports should sell the MLB license and focus solely on basketball games. Surely that would be profitable.

The perfect sports gaming world, for me, would have EA/SCEA baseball, EA/2K football, and 2K basketball. I'd prefer competition in all sports but no one can touch 2K basketball.

EA's bond games usually sucked, all of them. From the N64 to the last goldeneye game. Everything or Nothing was an awesome original story Bond game however. It was a great 3rd person game that they failed to follow up on with such garbage as From Russia with Love and the FPS goldeneye rouge agent.

I truly believe that Everything or Nothing is the best Bond game ever made.

Read the report I quoted.
EA lost 25 million dollars in the first quarter alone in 2007. So far the projection for 2007 is a LOSS of 192 million dollars. Take Two "only" forecasts to losses of 145 million dollars. Taking that into account...you could argue that TTWO is in better shape than EA(hey, I should become an analyst, so I can skew facts for people to gobble up). The fact is...EA took on a HUGE nut with it's exclusive rights and it did not pan out for them the way they thought it would.
People could read the same Forbes report and see that EA did almost 3 billion dollars in sales and TTWO did just under 1 billion and argue that EA is blowing TTWO out of the water...then read the profit line(not the profit margin line) and you will get a much clearer picture. EA is not happy right now about it's profits...that I can guarantee.

Ah, these threads pop up every few months. Some independent marketing firm makes some bold claim about 2K Sports and then people chime in ripping 2K Sports for some missing feature in some game or another.

Oh, I was talking about the original Goldeneye game that Rare made back in 1997. That game was a blast to play in multiplayer.

Of course...but if EA is losing that much money....in divisions that haven't even spent cent one on licensing....it's even a worse outlook than if it is the sports division, which at least has a reason(licensing) for starting out so far in the red.
The losses are not broken down by division...and for EA, I don't think that matters much.....the fact is they are drawing even less of a profit than TakeTwo right now. Cut it up however you like...but their share price had dropped to a low of about $46 dollars mid year(yep...even the mighty Madden couldn't help) but has rebounded nicely on the strength of.........wait for it.......HARRY POTTER!
Sales DOES NOT equal profit(obviously since EA outsold TakeTwo by a 3 to 1 margin(dollars), yet managed to lose about 27% more money in 2007)
I wish I could see the breakdown....title by title for sales vs. profit.
I think you would be very surprised at the results......and probably not happy about the sports division numbers.

Really FF? You'd love MVP back?

You'd love to have the game "completely rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of the power of the 360?" You'd love for it to play like **** for 3 years while the continue to "work on the foundation?" You'd love to have to go through the growing pains all over again?

Good riddance. 2k bought the MLB license and in the process lost a baseball customer.

Keep improving on The Show and I'm set.

I am glad that I have finally started to play games other than sports titles. If 2K were to fold, the only sports game that would get my money would be MLB the Show. I still hope Microsoft goes out and buys 2K.
