Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
Question for you guys:
What level of connection do you guys feel is the minimum for a non-laggy game? What I mean is being able to block both sides of a cross up and such. Like you guys, I end up playing a lot of Ken's and the higher ranked ones (usually with 1 bar) like to jump in for a crossup, come down on the other side and immediately Shoryuken. I could swear I switch sides early enough to block it, but I always seem to get roasted. On the rare Ken I've played with a 3 or 4 bar connection, I CAN block that move.
I know it's my own fault for accepting a challenge against a bad connection, but I hate turning down 10 of them just to get the one playable one.
On that note, has anyone ever actually seen a green connection?Last edited by bcruise; 03-22-2009, 04:13 PM.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
I won't play unless I see at least 3 bars, anything less than that and I've always run into choppiness. The highest I've ever seen has been 4 bars, and this is even w/people on my friends list that I know have fiber optic cable.Comment

I have to give this game a break. One of my button-mashing friends came through and broke my MadCatz Fightpad.

Really? *shakes head*
Well, I finally got to play SF IV last night and the 360 D-Pad gave me fits >_<. I did so much jumping and crouching when just trying to do something as simple as the hadoken input.Comment

What the hell do all these things you guys are saying mean? Sweep? Turtle?Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
Some people frown on turtling because it slows down a match, like holding the ball in football, or 90s style basketball teams like the Knicks and Heat. The advantage to playing a turtle is you can gain a lead on them and just hang back if you're patient. Usually their only offense is to throw.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
How high is the priority on that fire kick Mo was using whenever the Chun-Li jumped in on him?Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
The fire kick is a good anti air. There are a few moves that trade with it, but I think it's more reliable than the shoryuken, which trades a lot if you're late. The negative is that the fire kick only goes straight up, so if you know your distances well, you can come in at an angle that reduces its effectiveness.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
Yea, it's a really good AA, sucks that it only goes straight up though.
Lol, Born it wasn't that bad. When I said turtling I was only really referring to the last couple of rounds. I can never get in on chun because of her range/pokes. My wakeup options are limited because she's most likely sitting on sbk which covers normals and crossups. If you watch the video again you see that I only started punishing her jumpins with kyaku after I got raped in the 3rd round and realized how much of his offense started with a jumpin. I used a couple of chicken wings to close the distance, but chun can easily stop those with one of her pokes. Other than that I tried to stay in fierce Rekka range to close ground and hit confirm.
I'm still trying to get better though. I like using characters who can rushdown their opponent...only I suck at rushing people down.I'm not nearly as quick on the sticks to be able to rushdown, read, AND react like you're able to do with Rufus. So for now I have to resort to reading and reacting.
Plus, I only threw her 3 times, in 5 rounds! I was actually shocked. You know how much I like to throw.Last edited by eDotd; 03-23-2009, 11:03 AM.
