Well my heart is broken. It looks like those four stupid characters are it: SNK character, fat dude, Mexican and the MMA character who just looks like an extra from a bad Van Damme movie, rather than anything resembling any of the cool people from MMA. I don't know why Capcom avoided all of the characters that actually look and play like martial artists, but it looks like I'll just be using Ken and Chun Li this time around.

Hopefully Soul Caliber 4 is great, and I can forget about this polygonal pimple on the *** of Street Fighter's legacy.

I'm going to take this opportunity to give a little advice to everyone.

When you come up on a player doing the same thing every single time, thank the fighting game gods. Thank them. Why? Because this is a GOLDEN opportunity to work on countering that move. You rarely get the chance to work on a counter in competition like that. So start trying things with that character to counter. Experiment. Loosen up and exhaust your options.

On the other side--and this is going to sound heartless and mean--but if you have someone that is puzzled by a certain move or moves, KILL that scrub and move on to someone who can help you get better. Kill him fast, kill him mean. Frustrate him and make him worse for the rest of the night. From a strategic standpoint, this is the chance to sharpen that technique. He keeps falling for crossovers? Good, work on those crossover/FADC/ultra combos, using him as a test dummy for every brief second of his fading life.

I wouldn't do it in player match playing with friends but ranked is a different story. You play to win by any means neccessary. David Sirlin has a few good articles about SF and playing to win.

If there is a way to counter it, it's totally fair. Like Couple said, I don't do it in player matches with you guys, but if someone decides they are NEVER going to block low, then I am ALWAYS going to sweep. It's not my fault they made that decision. The same goes for all techniques. You can't be responsible for the other player's shortcomings.

Whether or not you feel it's "cheese" or "corny" just depends on how advanced the other player is. If you repeatedly crossed over Daigo, I bet he wouldn't be nearly as trapped. Why? Cuz he's better at the game.

In competitive play, I treat everyone like they are Daigo. IMO, it's a sign of respect. I'd feel so scrubby if someone said "I stopped using the cross over because you're too garbage to stop it. When I play against the GOOD people, I do it all the time."

Yuck. As far as I'm concerned "cheese" me until I figure a way out of it, because after that cheese is gone, you have to try something new. That's how people get good. They learn the counter for pattern after pattern, move after move, until it's really hard to break their D.

b)Cyros hadn't already made the joke.

It's not like I crapped on the final lineup. As it stands, I'd still be a little pissed if these were the only four characters added. Only thing I backpedaled on is I like Rufus, and I really didn't think I would. Viper still looks like an SNK character, and Fuerte and Abel have yet to grow on me. The presence of the many other characters make it easy to accept the few that aren't to my tastes though.

That's more from a fighting standpoint than a visual standpoint. It's partially true, but I think she fits into Street Fighter just fine as a fighter. Even as a design, I don't mind one or two SNK looking people as long there are enough Goukens and Fei Longs to keep it honest.

How do you defend against people that play Ryu or Ken that keep jumping towards the opposite side of where you're defending? The orientation of the other player's jump attack is hard to block.

Can't you anti air these with a HP or HK?

I just picked up SF4 for 360 and I freakin love it. SSF2 Turbo was the last one I played on Super Nintendo. I never got into any of the alpha series or any of that, I wasnt into all the added flashiness. I liked the pure simple gameplay of the super nintendo version, and this game brings me back to those days. Lovin it.

Akuma has always been my favorite SF character but he is almost a cheat code in this game. I went 1-1 against akuma's yesterday but only because I was able to interrupt or dodge his ultra. I think it was a questionable choice to make his ultra an even more powerful version of his super.

I just bought the collectors edition from gamestop (ps3) and I've been waiting for gamefly to send me a copy but they still haven't. I'm tired of waiting for the rental to get here so I can test it out. I think I'm about to crack it open, but I keep hearing how not fun it is to play the cpu and how hard the moves are to pull off. All I have is ps3 controller. Any suggestions? Is the game accessible even if u sucked at other street fighter games. I loved fighting games but always sucked at Street Fighter but somehow I am good at King of Fighters.

Visually Rufus irks the crap out of me. He's weird looking super fat with a whirlpool belly, gross body hair and he's ridiculously fast. When looking at the original Street fighter 2 lineup including bosses. Those character designs were flawless. Capcom did it again with Super street fighter 2, those characters are arguably on the same level as the original 12.

There were some extremely questionable characters in part 3, which was my least favorite.

In this one i felt they were trying to go with over the top more humorous designs. Hence the cooking Luchadore and the super gross fat, ultra fast, weird guy. Im not crazy about the 4 new characters.... but damn if the gameplay aint spectacular.
