Re: Far Cry 2
I have it for PC, I just got done with the training mission. So far it seems like it's going to be a very fun game, it looks pretty good considering I'm using a midrange card, Nvidia 8600 gts. I tried it on "poser mode" using directx 10 with everything maxed just to see how good it could look, I got about 1/2 a frame per second, but they were some pretty still pictures.Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
I am enjoying it so far (single-player). I am getting kind of annoyed with the guard posts though. I actually don't mind all the driving around, but the fact that you have to fight through those guard posts every 3 minutes gets old fast.
And the thing is, I don't mind that they are there. I just wish it was more realistic in the sense that if I clear a guard post and come back to it 2 minues later, it should not be repopulated already!!! The game has day and night cycles, they should wait at least until the next day to have guards reappear. It it really unrealistic and makes traveling a chore.
I am sure the developers put it in there so that players wouldn't get bored with all the driving around they have to do, but it is really hindering my experience instead of enhancing it. Like I said, I don't mind engaging them the first time, but let it be a while before the enemies show back up!!!
Ok, aside from that, the game is great!Comment

I didn't notice at first until I saw an opened diamond briefcase...Now I try to never back-track and just keep moving to new locations, or at least a couple so that if I return to a 'central' spot - I will not encounter any of the same posts.
Also I'd like more of the missions to not be all the way across the map.
Also agree that the game is great - fable isnt getting any time from me right now. there is just so many cool things about the game. I sniped someone in the turret going full speed and it looked like he got a major closeline! The diamond system is good too.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
You have to do a mission for the priest in the church. He gives you a missions which when completed give you malaria pills.Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
This is aggravating.
I went to the lumber yard, rescued the guy, was told to meet at the fishing pier to collect money and passed out with malaria once I got out of the lumber yard, wound up right back at the starting point???????
I don't see how you could wander around and explore in this game with this malaria thing. I've followed the missions, but I pass out every time afterward???? Wind up back at the starting point.Comment

Re: Far Cry 2
You have to get and take the medicine. Anytime the malaria starts to pop up, a little medicine bottle icon will then pop up in the bottom left corner, you press the left-bumper and bam...goes away until the next "outbreak."
And you get the pills after you talk to the guy at Mike's Bar, I believe it is, he'll get you in touch with the priest in Pala, and that's where you can get the pills and refill them.Comment
