Just started playing this game and liking it so far. It's starting off slow like you guys said and I just finished the tutorial and getting the maleria pills but now starting to do missions and finding these repawning soldiers at these checkpoints annoying as I can't drive back and forth without killing the same guys over and over. Is the whole game like that and you have to get used to it?

Also does sleeping do anything for you besides doing a mission at night. It doesn't replenish your health or delay the maleria symptoms or anything like that?

You can drive off road a lot of times and just by pass some of the checkpoints. Don't wander too far off the map in the desert or you'll pass out and find yourself recovering someplace minus your jeep.

Well 25 hours in, I now have a save file that refuses to load, so I guess this ends my Far Cry 2 experience.

What difficulty are u guys playing. I chose hardcore but am I gonna be sorry later? I don't feel like starting over on medium so any of you doing hardcore and is it manageble?

Well 25 hours in, I now have a save file that refuses to load, so I guess this ends my Far Cry 2 experience.

That's why I always use 2 save files and use them every other save. Learned my lesson with Dead Space.

How is this game holding up? Does it get repetitive or has it been engaging all the way through?

Man that sucks, I wouldn't play through again either. As great a game as it is when you go through it the first time I can see the knock against it. Too much of "go here and kill this person" or "go here and blow up this convoy" or "go here and blow up this piece of machinery" and "go here and exchange these papers for medicine". There's really nothing else to the game except alot to look at.

It's a fun game and all, but I could tell from somewhat early on it wasn't a game that would remain in my collection after I beat it.

Yeah one of my cousins corrupted my save in Kotor and ever since then I have at least three different saves.

In Fallout 3 and other RPG games I have a strict 5 save rotation for every character lol.

Same thing just happened to me. Around 25 or 26 hours in with abut 65% complete and my 360 freezes whenever I try to load. I'll try again in the morning (even though i'ce already tried 3 times) and if it still doesn't work i'm done too.

Sounds like a patch is in order. Gonna check some other boards and see if others are having this same issue. Peace!!!!

You can change your difficulty level any time.

I have always done this. I save the game, then next save point I make a new file, then next time I save I save over the previous file.

This way i always have 2 files leap frogging each other the entire way through. I loss one, I only have to start back a single check point.

This should be common practice with all gamers. No one wants to loss their entire progress. Lossing 30 to 45 mins of progress is much easier to deal with.

I just remembered I have a save from about 10 minutes before my "courrupted" save and it works. I'll just have to do the last mission again. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Sorry man, that really sucks. I was PO'd last night when that happened to me. If there was a way to send you my save file i'd gladly do it.
