    Yes it did!
Just hope not too many people bypass this game because it's worth the purchase by far. I'm really loving it.

Yes, it's a straight up shooter with nothing bizarre in it. Easy to learn and get in to. I've got the grenade launcher now (great fun), the sniper rifle, and the flame thrower is great.

The visuals and interaction with trees etc are awesome. Different ways to attack a mission etc..
I was loving my "Found" sniper rifle until it started jamming up all the time and then eventually falling apart.
Great game that everyone should try!

Lol... I'm a sucker for games with longevity. For 60.00 I want my moneys worth
COD was just a bad purchase by me. I sort of knew I would get tired quick and I knew the online would be a sprint to perks and leveling.
That's just not cup of tea. So earlier I got Fallout3 and Far Cry 2 and they will last me a looong time as well as being stellar games. (Oh I also got Fable2...shhhh! Finished it but will probably go again or trade it in when I get my extra 30% coupon for trades.)

It's the same way in the single player mode. You can hit a guy with about 7 bullets before he goes down, unless one is a head shot. I don't use assault weapons at all because of this.

SP is sooo much better than MP for the assault rife though... just aim center mass and let the recoil follow up to a head shot every time... since the enemies are usually standing still.

in MP it takes like 2 clips to kill with AR.

Yes, guns jam right in the middle of a fire fight. I had a mission and one round from my grenade launcher to take out a train. I fired the thing and the weapon exploded in my hand and the round missed, uh, oh.

                  Fun shooter.

I like the guys who you wound and their buddies come into the scene to try to carry them away.

the game is getting my vote for game of the year. it has so much to offer. consoles can't offer all the characters that are in the pc which is sad. the PC has more NPC's or buddies to offer. from what my brother has said, but my pc's graphics card can't play it. so i have the PS3 version but still am enjoying this game

It's right up there for me as well. I still have yet to play Fallout 3 and I won't get Little Big Planet and some of the other major games until the end of the year. But right now, it's between Fable 2 and Far Cry 2 for my Game Of The Year. Had some really cool stuff happen today, which I blogged about. I'll repeat some of it here:

A couple of other cool things happened as I played today. The AI seems to get better and harder as you advance through the game. I raided an outpost today and drove off the guards. One of them ran off into some rocks about 50 yards from the outpost. I was walking through the camp, looking for goodies to loot when I heard the hiding guard start taking shots at me from a distance. I turned to run and saw a propane tank out of the corner of my eye. As I ran by it - WHOOSH! - it blew up and everything around it (including me) caught fire. The guard had aimed for the tank and created a massive explosion. That is some damned good AI.

Later I had a mission to take out a truck convoy. I did this, hitting it and the surrounding cars with my rocket launcher. Suddenly 2 jeep patrols showed up and started firing at me. I took out 3 of the 4 guys in quick order and was lining up a shot for the last one when he turned and ran, hiding behind one of the burning cars. What did he do then? He shot off a flare gun, high into the sky. Suddenly 4 or 5 more jeep patrols came roaring in and I was under an immense amount of fire. He called for backup! I had to high tail it out of the area, running for my life. Incredible. That was the first time I had seen the enemy do that and it was such a rush.

There's an option to buy a flare gun, but not sure how I'd use it, but it would be neat to see how they handle the effect.

flare guns aren't that great but to spark a fire. rather toss molotovs to do that

                            Re: Far Cry 2

Just picked up this game. It's still early so i'm not all that captivated yet. Some things I don't like:

                            - The AI, while non-scripted, is kind of dumb. Enemies just run around out in the open instead of taking cover.

                            - No cover system. I think the ability to take cover should be as fundamental to a shooter as shooting the gun itself in this day and age as it's the most fundamental aspect of combat.

                            - story is kind of barebones and difficult to follow.

                            - re-spawning of gaurdposts and the fact that everybody starts shooting at you onsight where ever you go.

                            - Can't carry assault rifle and sniper rifle at same time

                            Things I do like:

                            - visuals are gorgeous.

                            - Weapons and firing are really tight.

                            - the fire is awesome.

                            - nice effects for grenade and rocket launcher explosions.

                            - time of day availability ala GTA or Shenmue

I'm about 8% into act 1 at this point.

yeah, but flares do it at great distances and distract the enemy since they have no idea where you are when you start picking them off.
