      Re: Diablo 3

My thoughts on the game that covers my opinion on console (next gen) vs PC, normal VS hard, and co-op. This is for you people that have the game, and also for you lurking message board introverts that are still on the fence and haven't purchased the awesomeness that is Diablo III

      1.
This game is best played on a next gen console.. yes I said it. Me, the dude with a gaming rig I built with 16gb of ram and brand new DUAL Sapphire R290's (with 4gb on each one), and I already own D3 for PC. The reason why I say its best played on the console is because Blizzard basically fixed a lot of things people were grieving about on the PC version in the console version. Also it's easier to get in a co-op with a friend VS PC version. The controls are better and more intuitive on the console. On the PC you either need to be good with the number keys, know how to re-map your keys, OR own a Razr Naga (I have one, its sweet but its still better on a console controller). Keep in mind, I'm putting the next gen version of this game OVER the PC version AND I game on a PC at 2560x1440. For the first time I think in my entire life I have a game that I prefer console vs PC *gasp*

      2.
If you start this game on "Normal" setting you are MILK DRINKER! (Skyrim reference there). There is absolutely positively NO reason for anyone to be playing this game on Normal, even if you are a Diablo virgin. Hard (the next setting up) is NOT too hard. Its still easy with pockets of the game being more challenging. It's more rewarding both literally and figuratively; More XP, More and better loot, and when you do run into a boss that you actually have to strategize around and and you down him, you actually feel a sense of accomplishment... and if you are co-opping on the normal setting, my 3 year old son could probably beat you in a fist fight. You're just a chicken-&!@ wimp lol.. Speaking of co-op, see number 3 below.

      3.
I got on my headset and co-opped for the first time last night with my brother RGMoney... I don't think I can ever go back to single player. Co-op is just so much more fun. So now I figure when my bro is on, I will get on my Crusader (that class is pure pwnage)... and when he's not on and I need to get my fix I will level up my Wizard. But seriously folks, co-op with people you know (err at least know on here) with a headset is like a dope fiend waking up in a meth lab and realizing he's not dreaming.

Okay that is all. Get back to killing and looting.

I have it for PC and run it maxed out at 2560x1440... and guess what...

I prefer it on my PS4.

Yeah, it was my friends nemesis and he just destroyed me within seconds so I think he's leveled up quite a few times. It's tough to kill a nemesis in a group because if someone dies, he's gone. It doesn't matter who, just one death is good enough for him.

Started as a Demon Hunter, but am thinking about going Crusader. Since I'm new to Diablo I'm looking for suggestions from you vets.

                  Barbarian is what I'd recommend

Curious about your reasoning. Not questioning it, but as I said, I'm new to Diablo and am fairly clueless.

Barbarian is close-in combat with limited spells to use to survive. He also has the best armor by default, the most health and can use most weapons. It's probably the simplest to play to start.

                        Understood.

Is the Crusader slightly more advanced in play style then? Seems like Crusader class is similar to a Barbarian but has some ranged attacks. Might be a good middle ground between Barbarian and Demon Hunter.

They're all pretty easy to pick up.

No reason not to roll Crusader if you wanna try it, but every class is super limited at the beginning of the game. Also, Crusaders are the 'tankiest' class by default, not Barbs like they were in the original release.

When I get to the Torment levels of difficulty, that's how I judge if I should stay on that level or move up/down.

If I can blaze through the Goblins, I'm probably playing on too low of a difficulty. If they get away more often than not, I feel like I have it turned up a bit too high. During the regular game it doesn't really matter, though, because experience > loot while you aren't at max level.

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!
