I'll be finishing GTA IV over the summer and finding time to buy and play L&D and BGT afterward, sequentially.
I wouldn't go THAT far, but it's definitely very, very good.

I actually agree with Blzer. Greatest game I've ever played and experienced.

It's one of those things where I wish I could go back and erase my memory of playing the game just to experience it all over again. Weird, I know.

I know what you mean. I was so blown away by it when I started playing it. One of my favorites of all-time.

I would place this in my top 5 for sure, this game gets hammered on a bit too much imo. They did a great job removing a lot of the fluff in GTAV when compared to the previous entries and having more missions based on the storyline.

Another annoyance that I had was the trying to keep people happy in this game. I got to the point where I was just either ignoring calls or saying no everytime they want to hang out.

Yeah, this is one thing I could do away with almost completely. I wouldn't mind calling them for something, but not so much for building relationships as it is just to actually do something with someone else (bowling, billiards, etc.). But in no way should they be calling me, and if they do and I decline, I shouldn't have a "worse relationship" with them so to speak.

I hope the whole relationship thing goes out the window in GTAV, and from what I have read it has in the expansions. I'm still working on the main game so I hope to start TLATD soon.

If I could get one feature implemented the most, it would have to be checkpoints during long missions. I love the idea of being able to restart a mission through the cell phone, now they should take it one step further and give us a checkpoint system. There was one mission I must have tried over and over again a good 6-7 times, and it was one of those long ones. It was a pain, but I am glad I finally got through that part.

I like the story of Niko and Roman, but the further you progress its like Roman becomes non-existent in the main plot. I did peek at the IGN strategy guide chapter titles, so I know Roman pops up again later........but would have been nice to see him more screwing things up at a bigger price due to his gambling. I am not done yet, so I could be jumping the gun.

Pretty sure both add-ons have this.

I wish they would add the evade police feature from Chinatown Wars... after playing that game a ton it's tough going back to how it is in this game.

The GTA franchise needs to open up more stores or buildings to enter like in True Crimes: New York City and Yakuza. In True Crimes, you can stop in any store or restaurant to buy first aid kits and food. You could also go into pawn shops and sell stuff you collected off the streets. Then you could rob these same establishments for money.

Also add taking a que from the Godfather series which also does a lot right for an open world game.

I wouldn't say GOAT - for me, that honor goes to San Andreas(better map/soundtrack/characters, much more to do), but GTA IV is very good. I wish there was DLC featuring Little Jacob, Real Badman and the Jamaicans. Badman's my favorite character in GTA IV.

I just finally finished the main story last night (haven't played the expansions yet) and it was great game but it could have used more variety in the missions. It seemed like every mission came down to going to x place and killing someone.

I hope for GTAV there are more side quests like San Andreas. For such a large map, I didn't feel like there was enough stuff to do in GTA IV that took advantage of the geography like San Andreas.

For me the best part of the game was likely the radio stations, some of the stuff was filthy but absolutely hillarious.

How did that system work since I never had a chance to play Chinatown Wars?

That's what I love about Rockstar - their attention to detail like the radio stations, TV shows, internet, and the silly brand-name products like Sprunk, Burger Shot, Cluckin' Bell. I'll spend more time watching TV/internet than I do playing the missions.
