Looking like a clear case of better in pictures than video. We'll see as it gets closer to release. I'm looking for the "AAA" games in '08 and beyond to approach Gears, Bioshock, Mass Effect graphics.

You can't expect a game like GTA4 to have graphics on the same level as the ones you mentioned. The GTA games are on an infinitely larger scale. To have graphics similar to those, you wouldn't even be able to play the game. You would just be able to look at the pretty scenery and that would be about it.

Also, these types of games usually come together right before release so dont let the video be the final judge.

Those last screenshots look great. I'd be willing to bet that those vids are from an old build.

I have total faith that this game will be great. Saints Row was a good game, and I'm sure Rockstar will be sure to kick their effort up a notch to show them who's king.

I just hope that this game makes the side quests more interesting.

I couldn't help but get bored pretty quickly with every GTA3 game because of how routine each side quest became.

It was mostly drive car, find bad guys, kill them. And most of the time it became 10-15 minutes chases down the streets as they shoot at you.

Weren't those the story quests? The side missions were like delivering pizza, driving the ambulance, putting out fires, vigilante, taxi missions, etc.

Its insane that this game was suppose to come out October 16th of this year. I'm pretty sure they have to be around the end of development. So saying that, those graphics look like their going to be the game's final look. Saying that, for a game with a scope this big, and i remember hearing no loading times, then its quite nice.

It definitely doesn't look as good as Saints Row, however it looks more realistic than Saint's Row. I really can't wait to get into this game. All of the GTA games have been better and better, and this being Rockstar's first next generation version, i can not wait to see it in full action

Any ideas/rumors on who the voice actors are and where the game takes place and what the story is about?

The game takes place in Liberty City, present day with a European immigrant (think Leon from The Professional) as the main character.

I agree. I loved SA - but the city, cars, characters, and radio stations from 3 all made it better for me.

In SA, there was no radio station I really liked. In 3 I LOVED the chatterbox station. Listening to Lazlo and that other guy (I can't remember his name - I think it was Ferdinand) was just a blast. I'd drive around the city sometimes and just listen to it... I never did that was SA.
