What do you love most about it?

The art style is great, and matches the game perfectly. The fighting is very similar to games like God of War and other great hack-n-slashers. And, instead of just being a mindless brawler, half the game is spent exploring massive dungeons and solving puzzles ala Zelda. There is also an inventory/upgrade system that is nice and intuitive and really adds depth to the game.

It really has a great "old school" feel to it, like those single player games we used to sink hours into back in the day. It's just a fun, fun game.

Nope, I got both the same day and played Bayonetta first. Really enjoy it but since I put in Darksiders I have not played Bayonetta once

If real life ever stops getting in the way I'm hoping to get a ton more time in this game. I don't think I've hit the sweet spot yet so looking forward to it. Hopefully after today I'll have a day or 2 of some free time.

Dale I got to say man. You were right!!!!

I put in right around 2 hours so far and been exploring my first dungeon. The different puzzles, combat, exploration, boss fights, etc are all adding up to make a very fun experience.

I am really digging the story though. It has to be my favorite part right now. The characters you come across seem very intriguing and have this sense of wonder about them. Vulgrim is one of my favs so far.

I also see what you were talking about with the combat not being as "mindless" as I thought. You can buy different moves, different weapon enhancements, and the ability to map different skills to different buttons is really cool.

It has that "I REALLLY DON'T WANT TO PUT THIS DOWN " vibe. I ended staying up much later than I wanted last night. But I just could not quit playing. I am really glad I stuck with it, because it is really starting to get good. I am now sold, another great addition.

I'm glad you stuck with it though, it's a great game. I do fault them a little though for making the first hour or so so lame compared to the rest of the game... did we really need that much of a tutorial?? Lol.

I think it is the same with all us older guys. Work, wifes/girlfriends, outside responsibilities, etc. I wish I had more time to play a lot of games I have. But thats life for ya

I am on the fence about the hour long tutorial. I checked the game time played. Right when I finished it and it clocked in at 1 hour 28 mins. That is a LONG LONG tutorial!!!! Reason I am on the fence is I can see WHY they did it. But it is the way it was done that made it so mundane. By the time the tutorial told me to "HOLD B" to finish stronger enemies, I have already been doing that for 30 mins. Then when they start talking about combos of the X button, I was like seriously?????? For a hour now I been hacking slashing.

I just found they extended the tutorial way to long. In the first 15 mins everything should have been explained. I think they had designed areas they wanted to talk about certain gameplay mechanics, then added certain scripted battles with enemies in between this. I guess to make it seem more like the gameplay rather than a tutorial. Just bad design choice in my opinion.

With all that said. I agree with everyone talking about how if you stick with the game it gets better. I was skeptical but I got to be honest, it is starting to kick ***. I can see me really sinking my teeth into this one, everything about it just reminds me of old games and what made them so great.

I am soooo happy I have two games in Bayonetta and Darksiders that is bring back old school gaming to next-gen systems(if they still called that). First couple games on this gen that I think stands up to old classics.

Looks like a amazing 2010 for gaming.

I got this over the weekend but hadn't put much time into it yet until last night. I finally started the first dungeon, the one where you get the crossbow, and I've got to say so far I'm enjoying the game a lot. I agree with you guys, the beginning/tutorial lasted way longer than it should have but once you get into the game it's great.

The boss take downs are EPIC!! Nothing better than seeing war slice off a beasts arm, jump up on its back, ram his sword through its skull, then do a leaping front flip off its back slicing on the way down. Then landing in that badass slide, head half cocked down, and just looking like a badass!!

i am having trouble with that stupid ninja star like i cant make it seem to go off stuff then hit the object.... like is there a special trick or what? i mean i am and press R2 but the star just stays there cutting it doesnt bounce
