Same here. I was going to get a Wii just to play Zelda actually - already have the game and haven't gotten the system yet.

I didn't think Darksiders felt much like Zelda until that first dungeon. Then it felt JUST like Zelda, in a very good way. Hadn't played a game to date that really captured that feel until now; the game turned from mostly hack n' slash to action/adventure. Seems like the developers were heavily influenced by games from other genres and tried to incorporate a lot of them into a single game. Not sure how good of an idea it was to take the jack of all trades approach, because it kind of takes away from the game having a solid personality. While playing I've thought of different games like God of War, Ghosts and Goblins (on the PS2), and maybe Panzer Dragoon for one part of the game. But this first dungeon puts it over the top for me; really fits with the storyline imo also. Really looking forward to getting to the other dungeons.

I went in-store for the TRU gift card deal; not sure if it's available online.

Man am I glad I picked this up. Great acting, set style, and gameplay. And, it takes the stuff we love from our favorite games/genres and incorporates them almost seamlessly. I would definitely recommend this.

Agreed, I am having alot of fun with this game as well. I wasn't blown way at the beginning but as the game has gone along it has become very good to say the least. Like you said it incorporates all the different elements together so well. To me so far it has been a great blend of combat, platforming and puzzle solving especially once I reached the Cathedral. It borrows some elements from other games but I have never seen them blended together this well.

Not to mention it feels pretty sweet playing as the one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Gives it a real badass kind of a vibe. I am loving the art style of the characters as well.

Play loves everything, especially if the main character is female and even more if she's not wearing much.

I had some free rental things so went ahead and rented this anyway.

Sub-par would be the word I think.
Hate the art style, far too cartoonish for the content. Maybe they were going for a GoW Teen and ended up with the M rating.

Lack of originality as already mentioned.

I can't get the block button to work so this game has worse D than the Golden State Warriors and it's making things overly difficult even on easy.

Lol, well to each his own I suppose.

For me, the game gets better every minute I play it. I'm absolutely addicted. One of my best purchases in a while.

Ironically, everything you hate, I love about the game. The art style, the combat, the exploration, it's all fantastic. And as far as the D goes, it's just all about timing. I had trouble too at first, but now I can counter like nobody's business.

I love the art style. That's one of the things that attracted me to the game. I'm a huge Todd McFarlane, Joe Madura, Jim Lee, Stephen S. Platt Comic book art fan.

I just gotta say again, I LOVE this game. It's been a while since I've woken up in the morning eager to run downstairs and explore some dungeons and kick some ***

This title is such a great homage to so many classics, and it does everything so well. Bravo to Vigil Games. Absolutely worth my $60.

definitely co-sign. The story, the art, the gameplay, character/dungeon design - all top-notch. Only complaint I have is the difficulty. I started on Apocalypic and it was kicking my azz three hours in (before I got to the Twilight Cathedral). So I bit the bullet and ramped down to Normal, which was good for the most part. But now that I'm beginning to regain War's powers, I'm not getting as much a challenge as I'd like from the more routine angels & demons. Which kinda makes sense, given the purpose of the horsemen. But still think the difficulty could've been tweaked a little better. Overall love the game though; it incorporates many different game types into a single game well

Opposites there again,I played it a bit more and it only got worse. Found it to be repetitive on top of the previous problems,platforming/controls got worse and wasn't a fan of the boss fights especially with the lock on changing it to widescreen.

I understand the blocking problem now at least. They put the dash button on the same button as block so when I was trying to block I was usually in the middle of or just out of a combo that I of course was naturally aiming so had the stick held. Can only block if you're not doing anything else/not holding a direction.

I can give it credit for the music though, that was quite well done and fitting.
