          “Rockstar”
          “This Afternoon”

(All tracks are original master recordings)

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system June 30)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “Nickelback Pack 01” as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and as individual tracks only on Wii.

          Price:

Yeah, I don't get the Nickelback hate. I get it, they're not unique; but I like some of their stuff. LOL at the Rock Band forums whining about it though.

                  Re: Rock Band 2

I get the Chad Kroeger hate (and Nickelback is infinitely times worse than they used to be), but like I said when they were coming out with Creed's Higher on RBN, I do not understand why some people are so unaccepting that these bands can't even make an appearance on this game (I do believe someone on here said they wouldn't buy RB3 if it had Nickelback or Creed, one or the other... that's just downright brutal).

I may get Photograph or Rock Star, but not any of the others. I would have liked Far Away on here, as I charted that as one of my first songs for ScoreHero.

I agree, almost all their songs sound the same except for their last album......but their not a bad band.

                      Nickelback hates music games.
                      HMX hates Nickelback.
Solution? A Nickelback 6 pack for RB with How You Remind Me very likely being in RB 3 as it's not in the pack.

Yeah I was surprised How You Remind Me wasn't in the pack, considering that's probably their best song - which doesn't say much.

Next week we'll see the Deftones hit the Music Store with a gnarly 3 pack! This marks the first appearance of the Deftones in the RB library, and they're accompanied by a single from another new-to-RB group, Crown of Thorns. Boys Like Girls (who you may remember from Lego Rock Band) round out the week with a single of their own.

Remember, these songs come out the same day that Green Day: Rock Band launches, so if you pick that up you'll have another 40+ songs to play! Enjoy!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 system (June 8):

                            Deftones – “Cherry Waves”
Deftones – “Hole in the Earth”
                            Deftones – “Minerva”
Boys Like Girls – “The Great Escape”
Crown of Thorns – “Rock Ready”

(All tracks are original master recordings)

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system June 9)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “Deftones Pack 01” as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system, and as individual tracks only on Wii.

                            Price:

$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track

$5.49, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for “Deftones Pack 01”

                            $2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per track
Wow, I check this thread frequently but somehow this release passed me by. The Deftones are some of my all-time favorites. I'm snagging 'em all!

They actually have a few decent songs on the 2 albums they released before they got famous. Rockstar isn't bad but I don't think I'd buy it.

U2 bassist Adam Clayton told USA Today that the band was in talks to lend its songs and likenesses to the game last year, but never reached a deal.

"We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren't what we wanted," Clayton told the paper. "That could change. I love the idea that that's where people are getting music, and we'd love to be in that world. We'll figure something out."

That doesn't necessarily mean gamers should hold their breath waiting for The Joshua Tree as a downloadable album for Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Clayton's comments suggest the band would prefer a stand-alone product dedicated to their music, much like last month's The Beatles: Rock Band.

"What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we're interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation," Clayton said. "We didn't want to be caricatured."
After passing on Harmonix collaboration last year, Irish quartet is now open to band-centric rhythm game a la The Beatles: Rock Band.

They also have a song in Singstar.

Thanks Goh. I think they definitely have the catalog necessary for a standalone game.
