I have also been slowly losing interest in these music games. That barrage of releases in 2009 did not help at all. The DLC hasn't been too bad for RB2, but there has been a mix of crap.........albeit being better than the GH stuff.

That's not to say that RB2 isn't still a great game when playing with a group of friends, but I don't see myself buying Rock Band 3 or whatever the next Guitar Hero game is if the formula is still the same.Ryan Spencer

Re: Rock Band 2
Unless music games go in a completely different direction, I think the genre has peaked and is now in decline. There's only so much you can do with playing other bands' music with notes scrolling down a screen.

From the GH6 thread, it looks like Whitesnake is coming, but its only 1 song. This would have been a perfect opportunity to release a pack of 4-5 songs.
With the Van Halen release, I would have loved some Chickenfoot or Hagar released on RB2. Some missed opportunities imo.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
Much like this...
Their first step has been to prep the three original albums for deluxe reissues, also due March 9. Those will include bonus tracks, extensive liner notes and a DVD on the making of each album featuring interviews with original Experience members Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell, producer Chas Chandler, Cox and Kramer.
They'll be giving a similar treatment to remastered editions of "First Rays of the New Rising Sun," the double album Hendrix was working on when he died that was the initial release from the Seattle-based company Experience Hendrix in 1997, the "Smash Hits" compilation and "Live at Woodstock."
They'll be issued under a long-term contract that Janie Hendrix signed last year with Sony Music after the 12 years that Universal Music handled all Hendrix releases. At the time the deal was completed, Sony vowed to make his music "available through every type of media" -- including a new edition of Rock Band that Janie Hendrix says should appear before the end of this year.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
I do love that there is no clicking from the strum or the frets. I still have one of the GHWT guitars that my wife uses and while they are not bad, I still prefer the Strat.
If you have a Fry's near you, they have the instruments $10-$20 cheaper than most stores. The RB2 drums are $39 and the Strat is $59.
Did anyone pickup the Megadeth album? I'll probably pick that up tonight along with another pack.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
I would have to agree with you there.......it took me sometime to get used to it, but it doesn't look like a toy which is nice. My only complaint though with the Strat is the whammy bar kind of gets in the way, unlike the GH guitars. If that is one thing that I could change about the Strat, that would be it.

True, and they would be right in the fact that 3 albums for one band is overkill, but I would still love it.Xbox Live Gamertag: MizzouBrentComment

Re: Rock Band 2
I might get "The Dope Show". Mechanical Animals is easily Marilyn Manson's best album.Comment
