No problem. Rock Band 2 to me just feels like the real deal and may eventually surpass Guitar Hero if Neversoft continues to be lazy.

I should have stated in sales, I think GH3 beat out RB1 via sales. I bet things change this year with RB2 and GHWT.

From a game stand point, I think that Rock Band 2 wipes the floor on GH. But we can't make judgment on GHWT till it releases, but I fear the same old same old formula.

The thing is that GHWT is clinging to actual music personalities as they are adding more and more with this release. But the problem is that those personalities are nice, but can only go so far. Once people realize that with Rock Band 1/2 that you get multiple DLC tracks every week, more may jump on. If anything that is the feature that EA/Harmonix's marketing should be pushing the most. There is no way that GHWT pushes out this much DLC. If Harmonix can continue getting full albums out on a more regular basis, what else is there to ask for.

A big factor in GH beating out RB in sales was a cheaper price. I'm sure that $169 price tag scared away a lot of people. Now that RB2 and GHWT will have similar price points, I think we'll see RB take over.

Even with the real musicians they are putting into GHWT, it really doesn't matter (to me at least) unless the character you picked somehow changed the way you played the game. I don't know how this could be worked into the structure of the game, but it would make the licensed characters more meaningful, and not just a preset virtual avatar.

On a related note, one next step I'd like to see HMX take on the customization route is to make it so that the instruments sound different based on what instrument your character is using (i.e if your character uses a Fender Big Block Strat, the guitar track will have a different sound than if your character were using a Jackson or Squier guitar).

I really lucked out. I walked into one of the Gamestop's in my patrol area mainly to get the Devil May Cry trilogy set and some used PSP games for my upcoming vacation. The manager is really cool there and I also noticed that the Area/Regional manager was there. He's awesome and he was the guy that originally told me that they give the same employee discounts to police. I asked if they had any copies of this game left and they said they did but the manager tells me if I wait a few seconds they will have a used one. Apparently the regional manager guy was trading his copy in so they sold it to me for $42 and change. Nice.
